she thinks it's a waste of time and money...what should i do??I wash my face twice a day and try not to touch my face but my mom won't pay for real acne treatment?
First of all Beauticontrol offers a 100% guarantee on their products and they have the best skin care around. Google Beauticontrol and find a site for it. Our team in Minnesota and Illinois is offering to let clients use a skin care set for free to see if it works for them. See if you can find a consultant in your area.
If you have pimples and few zits...ask for the ';Skinlogics'; basic set.
If you have moderate to severe acne and zits ask for the ';All Clear'; skin care set.
Here are a few more tips:
1. Always wash your face before bed, especially if you wear makeup. NEVER go to bed with makeup on. Many people do but if you have acne you can't. (Never skip a night...if you have problems falling asleep before you wash, then start washing your face about an hour before you would go to sleep....NEVER skip cleaning your face or you will wake up to breakouts.)
2. Never scrub your face hard. It irritates your skin and aggravates the acne.
3. If you must pick, use tissue to absorb oils and wash hands so as not to spread the oils to any other parts of your face. There is some evidence to suggest it's like a bacteria that can spread.
4. Drink lots of water. You should drink half your body weight in ounces. If you weigh 100 pounds, then drink 50 ounces of water.
5. Eat lots of fruit and veggies. It improves the skin texture and appearance. You are what you eat.
6. Get a little sun on your face. Not too much to cause damage, but a little UV or a tanning bed (limit this) can help with acne.
7. Get the right make-up. I use the ';Wet/Dry'; foundation by Beauticontrol. It goes on dry. It tends to stay put longer. It doesn't look fake. I can't feel it. And it doesn't clog pores.
8. Give skin care a chance. I noticed results immediately, but after four weeks it was night and day. The longer you use it the better it works.
Remember Beauticontrol offers 100% money back guarantee.I wash my face twice a day and try not to touch my face but my mom won't pay for real acne treatment?
its probably what you're eating. watch what you're eating. chips? nachos? fries?
First cut out the stress from your life, eat healthier, drink more water and make sure you're keeping skin healthy. Or find books that have facial masks for skin problems.
i get oxy face pads. they're really cheap and they work!
While I dont think thats it entirely a waste, professional treatment dosent always work.
My girlfriend has a mild case of acne (a 3 on a 10 scale?) We/I have spent literally thousands of dollars trying tobattle her acne.
Proactive...didnt work at all.
Photo Facial (its where a dermatologist uses blasts of intense, high kelvin light)... didn't work. By the way , the photo facial cost over $900 for 4 sessions. And it wasent until after she was done and returned for a follow up apt. that they asked her all the cosmetics she was using and told her it was her brand of cosmetics that was causing or contributing to the acne. She used Perscriptives and Mac. She pretty much threw it all away and bought ';their brand'; of cosmetics, spending another $240. I believe that it was their plan from the begining; getting someones hopes up and then when their treatment didnt work, selling her on other products. I was FURIOUS with that company! Spending almost $1200.00 to only throw away a few hundred bucks worth of high end cosmetics from Nordstrom. If they really wanted to help they would have asked those questions BEFORE they took $900 bucks from my wallet.
The Wexler line of skin care and acne products....never worked a damn either.
Not to count up the hundreds of dollars of soaps, foam cleansers, scrubs, ect. None made a difference. She tried ALL of the common brands.
I never once told her to stop trying because I know how important skin complection is to people, especially girls.
It wasnt until she herself kinda gave up and went back to using clean and clear ($5.00 a bottle!) and us making a 180 degree turn in our diet and excersize. We havent eaten ANY fast food or soda in over a year. Our diet consists of dark green vegetables, NO margarine, NO trans fats, swapping ground beef for ground turkey, swapping turkey for breakfast bacon and sausage, and lots more changes.
So.... in the last few months, her acne is almost non existent! I SWEAR it is due to excersize and diet change.
Dont get me wrong, I Have absolutely no acne but i still use mild acne soaps to maintain healthy skin. I use Noxema soap, the one with thousands of scrubbing bead things in it.
So to answer yor question, look outside the box and find a reasonable option for yourself. If you use over the counter acne soaps, pay attention to the active ingredient listed on the container. All brands use a varied dose/strenghth of the same 4 or 5 active ingredients. Ignore the brand and look at hte active ingredients. Try all the active ingredients for about a month and then dicide what dose or active ingredient works the best for you.
sorry bout all the typos.
Im not a dermatologist or anything related to skin care nor am I trying to promote any of the the stuff I listed, I'm just a guy who pays attention to every little thing I read and hear about overall health and fitness. Good luck. email me if you want more detail about anything. good luck!

P.S. Microdermabrasion and chemical peels.... you guesed it,another $500 down the drain!
Maybe she can't afford it. Medications can be expensive and don't always work anyway. Have you asked her why she is not willing to take you to a doctor for the problem? And don't ask in an acusing way - just ask honestly. Maybe she has a good reason for not buying it for you.
Try to find the reason for the acne. Some things you can not stop but some you can. How bad is the acne? What are you eating? What climate do you live in? What is your skin type? Did either of your parents have acne? Also try some natural alternatives. Some may work for you.
