Acne treatment?

Proactiv
www.proactiv.comAcne treatment?
Spot treatment methods you can buy at the drugstore help, products containing benzoyl peroxide or silicic acid. And wash your face (but not too hard, or too often, or with too harsh of a cleanser), pat dry with a clean, soft towel... and don't touch anything!! haha, hard I know. Also, try not to pop anything if you can, spot treatment will work especially well if you put it on unpoped pimples.
If you're looking for a more permanent solution, I really recommend Proactiv. It's pretty affordable and it actually works! (as long as you're good about it :) ) But it makes your acne REALLY bad for the first 2 weeks.
Have you heard of a product called acnezine? This product is a natural skin antioxidant treatment for naturally clear skin. Here is a little bit about what the product will do. If you would like more information after reading follow the link below.
Eliminates spots, pimples, redness, puss, blackheads %26amp; whiteheads Natural acne treatment formula with no side effects. Fast and effective acne cure from the inside out
If at all possible, try to get in to a spa or salon tomorrow to get a facial done. A clinical facial may be even better, if they have someone qualified to do it. It costs about $40-$50, but that may be your best bet. If the price is too steep, then just keep your face cleansed with a gentle facial scrub - - - nothing harsh, and drink lots of water.
The good thing these days is that most photo companies that do the pictures offer a touch-up service that for a few dollars more, they will remove the acne from your photos. But I don't know if this will be available for yearbook photos. Good luck!

What is the best treatment for acne?
I have pretty bad acne (mainly on my cheekbones and forehead - basically just around my hairline). I shower daily, so my hair isn't oily and I wash my face twice a day... but it STILL won't go away! Is there ANYTHING anyone can recommend??? I'm tired of having my face look this way!
Oh... I'm also fifteen.... if that could have anything to do with it.What is the best treatment for acne?
a good brand is called terminator 10? i think
it's an orange bottle and has a big silver 10 on it
it comes in a kit with four different products
it works better than proactiv because proactiv only has 2% sacylic acid ( the stuff that treats acne)
where the terminator 10 has 10%
it works great and fast
just be careful because it can dry your face out because its so strong
and don't be surprised if at first your acne gets worse, thats just all the dirt coming to the surface
you can get it at walmart
hope this helps! What is the best treatment for acne?
You aren't suppose to wash your face twice a day because it removes your natural oil which can cause irritation and lead to break outs! All you have to do is use face moisturizer every day and DO NOT TOUCH YOUR PIMPLES. Always use a soft gentle cream on your face before you go to bed and when you wake up. Soon, your pimples will be gone. If this stil isn't working, use Clean %26amp; Clear or Neutrogenia.
see a dermatologist so they can decide what the problem is. they can give you the best facial cleansers. i've had luck with cetaphil you can find it at walmart and target.

Acne treatment?
Well. I used clean and clear products and they worked great for me but didnt get rid of EVERYTHING so i decided to try proactive for 2 months and my acne got TEN times WORSE! im not even kidding! so im using the clean and clear spot treatment..and im wondering..can you put it on like your whole forhead instead of just like 5 pimples here and there? because my forhead has little zits like everrrrywhere and it would take forever to dab some on each of them?
Thanks-Acne treatment?
Buy benzoyl peroxide acne treatment in a lotion or gel. You can get it over the counter now for under $10. Rub it in all over the entire affected area. You will not get any swollen zits anymore, and the ones you have will turn into blackheads which you can remove easily. I've been using it for about 3 weeks now and I already have clear skin. I would also suggest using Nuetregena dirt and oil remover to open your pores before you put it on. This helps the medicine get deep down where the breakouts start. If after you clear the zits you still have spots where the zits used to be, use Clinique's blue lotion to flake it off. You will look 7 years old.Acne treatment?

One of the latest treatments is laser for severe types of acne and operates by destroying the bacteria that cause acne. Lasers used in mild acne treatments like simple blackheads and whiteheads work on the serum producing glands to open up the follicle to release the serum trapped inside by heating the upper layer and reducing the size of the oil gland. This affects the upper portion of the skin, but without harming the deeper layers of the skin and able to heal without any problem.
I had lots of acne as a teenager. I found that smearing toothpaste over your zits at night before going to bed would work for me. In the morning they were calm and dry and I was able to put on my make up with confidence.id bare minerals

well..im on dianette for acne treatment...im still supposed 2 take it as if i was on the pil though..so take it for 21 days then have a 7 day break...i totally forgot and i took it for 28 days and now im worried what should i do.??Im on dianette for acne treatment...help i took the pill at the wrong times?
If its for acne don't worry if it's for contraception use condomsIm on dianette for acne treatment...help i took the pill at the wrong times?
Just carry on taking it until your next break is due. Won't do you any harm you just won't have a period until next month. Dr's will tell you that you can skip the week break for holidays etc...I used to take dianette and did it quite regularly with no harm done :o)
Take the 7 day break now. It wont make a difference.
ok dont panic. its perfectly safe to carry on taking the pill through the seven day break. keep taking them and then have a break when you've finished the next pack. i'm on the pill and i miss periods all the time. its one of the perks of being on the pill. really really really dont worry. you havent done yourself any harm at all.
You could call the NHS advise line on 0845 4647 and ask them. It's 24 hours.
Don't worry it won't harm you, just take your break now. I used to take microgynon and i never took a break for 5 yrs.
Hi Mia - I was on Dianette for YEARS and often ran 2 packs together, its really not a problem. Just make sure you take a break at the end of your next pack. If youre still worried tho then have a chat with your doctor, or NHS Direct and theyll put your mind at ease. Bxx
As you are not taking it for contraceptive purposes I wouldn't worry too much. Leave it for a week (as from now), and then continue as prescribed.
think you have spotted it in time
if its anything like my pill- mycrogynon 30, you wont have a period, but its perfectly safe!
dont take it for a couple of days to make up for it

sadly, the world good and cheap don't belong in a same sentence. You get what you pay for.
I suggest trying acnezine. it's very good and reasonably cheap.

Is laser treatment safe for acne ? does it hav any side effects ? At wht age it can be done ? Wat is procedure
I am thinking to take laser treatments for my acne i need infoIs laser treatment safe for acne ? does it hav any side effects ? At wht age it can be done ? Wat is procedure
With any type of Laser treatment there are risks of hyper or hypo pigmentation, sensitivity and sometimes infection. I would only recommend Laser as a last resort and for those who have scarring as well as active Acne. There are many triggers for Acne as not all those with very oily skin develope Acne. Try making some better food choices, eat lots of nuts and green leafy vegies, avoid soft drinks/sodas and any high sugar foods as they can be a major trigger. Take a fish oil supplement, it balances the sebaceous secretions and makes the oil finer, causing less clogging. Crushed Aspirin tablets make a great daily cleanser as it gently removes a layer of skin cells and has anti-bacterial properties. Just mix with water and paint on face, leave for 4-6 Min's and rinse in warm water, make sure you remove it all. Finish with witch hazel and a light oil like coconut oil, or apricot kernel oil. By not stripping the oil, your body will stop over producing to counteract, and if your face feels greasy after you have applied you oil you have used to much, wipe off with a dry face cloth and apply a little more with hazel and massage in. Tomato juice is great as a toner as it balances the skins pH and reduces redness, green clay is great as a bi weekly mask to mop up excess oil and calm the skin as well.Is laser treatment safe for acne ? does it hav any side effects ? yep totally safe. around 17 would be appropriate
Ive done microdermabrasion before and i was 13. there were no side affects, and it kinda hurt (like snapping rubber bands). Im about to do photodynamic acne laser or Isolaz laser. These types of lasers HELP acne and are designed especially to treat and eliminate acne.
-Microdermabrasion is the cheapest (about 100 bucks per treatment)
-Isolaz helps with acne but mostly for blackheads and enlarged pores (about 400 bucks per treat.) you need about 4 treatments
-Photodynamic acne laser helps acne alot but has some burning and peeling to the skin afterward. (about 300 bucks per treatment.) you need about 8 treatments
They all have different procedures, but the most complicated would be Photodynamic acne laser. First they wash your face with acetone. Then they put a clear gel called Levulan all over where you will get the laser. and you leave on the gel for about 40 min. and then you wash the gel off and then you have the painless laser for about 8 min. then VOILA!id bare minerals

Whats the best acne treatment.?
I have already used pro-active, acnefree, and muradWhats the best acne treatment.?
Different acne treatments work differently for different people ;-)
I did some research and talked to my doctor to find the most common causes of acne.
鈥?Hormones: The number one cause of acne is the production of sex hormones, known as androgen, that begins at puberty. This is why majority of acne sufferers are adolescents and teens. Hormones are responsible for then acne flare-ups during menstruation and pregnancy.
鈥?When the sebaceous gland is stimulated by androgens, it produces extra sebum. In its journey up the follicle toward the surface, the sebum mixes with common skin bacteria and dead skin cells that have been shed from the lining of the follicle. While this process is normal, the presence of extra sebum in the follicle increases the chances of clogging 鈥?and acne.
鈥?Stress: can also cause the production of hormones, such as cortisol, which can aggravate acne. Stress brings upon different hormone levels. With hormone changes the body prompts the skins oil glands to enlarge, secreting more oil. Which causes white heads, black heads and pimples.
鈥?Oily or heavy make up: Heavy make-up clogs the pores and oily make-ups add more oil, which only adds to the problem if oily skin already exists. Cosmetics, especially certain moisturizers, foundations and pomades contain lanolin, petrolatum, vegetable oils, butyl stearate, lauryl alcohol and oleic acid.
鈥?Certain medications and steroids: Vitamins are good for your body, But an excess of vitamins B1, B6 and B12 can cause acne flare-ups. These vitamins are good for the skin, but avoid overuse.
鈥?Diets: For some people, a diet that is high in refined carbohydrates and sugars can actually aggravate their acne.
鈥?Over abrasive cleansing: Harsh exfoliators can damage skin and spread infections.
鈥?Picking and squeezing: This can actually send the infection deeper into the skin and can cause scarring.
鈥?Environmental irritants: such as high humidity and pollution. High humidity actually causes swelling of skin. Pollution is of course is a big cause for clogging your pores.
鈥?Genes: Family members who are also acne sufferers. Acne is inherited and severe cases known as cystic acne usually come from heredity.
And..,
What the skin needs is a product that clears pores and kills bacteria, thus preventing hair follicles from clogging and turning into acne. This is what you should be looking for if you want to get rid of those ugly acne.
Before trying any treatment, I suggest you read this informational source that listed the most effective acne treatments available:
http://www.17acnetreatments.com
P.S. I also know someone who used to suffer from severe acne for 14 YEARS and finally got rid of it completely. She's sharing her story at her site:

Maybe you could learn from her inspirational story.
Good luck.Whats the best acne treatment.?
The Clean and Clear Acne Kit is awesome! You just have to make sure to use it twice a day religiously.
NOTE鈥 HAVE WRITTEN THIS LONG ANSWER TO RESPOND TO QUESTIONS RELATING TO BECAUSE THEY COME UP SO OFTEN:
OILY SKIN
ACNE
FACIAL LIGHTENING
DEALING WITH ACNE SCARRING
DEALING WITH STRETCH MARKS
IMPROVING SKIN TONE
PIMPLES
BLACKHEADS
EMERGENCY SPOT TREATMENT
INGROWING HAIRS
BODY ACNE
鈥HE INFO鈥橲 BASED ON MY OWN EXPERIENCE. I鈥橫 36 NOW SO I鈥橵E HAD TO DEAL WITH THESE ISSUES FOR QUITE A WHILE AND THOUGH MUCH OF THIS ANSWER MAY BE IRRELEVANT, I HOPE THERE'LL BE SOMETHING THAT CAN HELP YOU!
GOOD LUCK!!!
RECOMMENDED SKIN CARE鈥 use clean and clear cream wash (good for sensitive skin or those that dry to easy) or Neutrogena clear skin make up remover wash. Both contain salicylic acid which prevents breakouts and gradually evens the skin tone out too. This is the most important thing you can do. I鈥檝e tried various 鈥榦il free鈥?鈥檚alicylic acid鈥?moisturisers but the best I鈥檝e found is the clean and clear on鈥 found the Neutrogena one actually seemed to aggravate my skin.
EMERGENCY SPOT TREATMENT!...The toothpaste things works! Put on a blob at night and put a bit of tissue over it so it doesn't make a mess. It cools the area down and reduces the inflammation. I also recommend the clean and clear advantage spot treatment gel.
HORMONAL SPOTS鈥ny female with spots I'd recommend trying dianette or yasmine contraceptive pills because if it's hormonal that can sort everything out within weeks鈥hough it can take a couple of months to get used to the pill.
FACIAL ACNE: AVOID鈥on't use harsh scrubs and peroxide products daily like some people do; that can dry your skin and make produce MORE oil...just exacerbating the problem. Many face packs I鈥檝e tried and those blackhead removal strips too seem to have caused problems.
I鈥檝e also had problems with those 鈥榝acial wipes鈥?made by clean and clear and Neutrogena because they鈥檙e too drying and when the top layer鈥檚 too dry, the oil gets stuck underneath and causes more problems!
Some say chocolate doesn鈥檛 affect it鈥t does for me and I don鈥檛 know how or why that should be but certain foods do seem to affect break out. Coffee is one of those things that seems to aggravate my skin too. So look out for anything you eat that might be making it worse.
HAIR PRODUCTS鈥e careful what products you use in your hair if it's long - certain conditioners have causes me to break out at times. Also be careful of hair gels, hair sprays and serums.
INGROWING HAIRS鈥or men or women鈥f you have oily skin, these are more likely. For men鈥se a facial scrub and avoid moisturisers that don鈥檛 have salicylic acid in them if you use a moisturiser. Some hair conditioners are much better lubricants than shaving cream too 鈥?so you might want to try that, and then was afterwards with a clean and clear was etc. Also I recommend the microdermabrasion kit mentioned later.
For women鈥axing seems to cause the main problem 鈥?we pay most attention to our faces. Waxing seems to be the main culprit as opposed to shaving or hair removal creams鈥o avoid in-growing hairs, make sure to exfoliate. I recommend using those exfoliating gloves 鈥?that way, you can use any kind of shower gel.
NUTRITION鈥 recommend taking a 100% multi vitamin/mineral complex 鈥?those little spots you get around your mouth can be due to a vitamin b deficiency for example. Also I recommend Omega 369 oils every day because they improve blood flow.
OLD WIVES TALE??...It's an 'old wives tale' type remedy - but a spoonful of cider vinegar and honey in hot water 3 times a day is meant to help EVERYTHING. It tastes nice too...kinda like honey and lemon X
HYDRATION鈥?Keep your hydration right by drinking plenty of water, avoiding caffeine and alcohol and too much salt!
DEALING WITH SCARRING鈥here鈥檚 an excellent micro-dermabrasion scrub called 鈥榬e-finish鈥? by L'oreal. You only use it a couple of times a week (and use at night because it makes your face red!). It really works not just with the colouring but also the texture - smoothes it back out. It comes with it's own moisturiser which I don't use but I use the scrub at night a couple of times a week and put bio oil on which it supposed to help clear scarring and even skin tone.
If you get your skin relatively under control, try using '21 days Fade Cream' (which I get from eBay) because it quickly clears up any scarring. It鈥檚 a skin lightening cream and is very effective as long as your skin type agrees with it. Bio oil is a good alternative!
Also, to detract from the colour variations in your skin tone, I recommend using Benefit鈥檚 Posie Tint or Benetint lipstain 鈥?this can be put on your cheeks and lips (which also makes your teeth look whiter as an added bonus). Lipstain is better than lipstick because it doesn鈥檛 smudge and it stays on; you can put lip balm or lip gloss on over it. Also, if you use it (SPARINGLY) on your cheeks, it is just like putting water on there; it doesn鈥檛 aggravate the skin or cause breakouts.

Acne treatment help?
I'm 14 years old. I have enlarged pores on my nose, and my nose looks a quite shiny and greasy. But there is no way to stop the greasy appearance, even by washing my face or wiping it . Also, occasionally, I get a few pimples on my chin and nose. I need to get a solution to clear up my 'acne'. Any suggestions for me?Acne treatment help?

Yes, the black dots are blackheads. They are formed from bacteria.
Your question is very broad and you need to get professional advice. I will explain why it's a broad question!
Your age plays a role! Do you always have breakouts?
However, acne can result from several factors such an increase in hormone levels. In males testosterone or androgens. In females, androgens respectively. The increase in androgen levels can stimulate the oil glands to become enlarged and thus more oil production is produced. An increased oil production can clog the pores with oil or sebum ( white thick substance) which cause the cell walls of the pores in the skin to breakdown. This process allows bacteria to form and thus breakouts develop.
Genetics may also be a cause. It is a myth that greasy food or chocolate causes breakouts.
However, using make-up sponges that are not changed or washed often can contaminate the pores with bacteria which may develop into acneic breakouts.
If you have severe breakouts than you might need medication. There are many factors.
The most important thing is that you need products that are AGE APPROPRIATE! Every age group has different products appropriate for them. If you are young than you need milder products as to not dry out your beautiful young skin.
The problem with commercial skin products is that they are manufactured for MASSES OF PEOPLE and are not specifically made for different peoples' needs.
Your skin type is different than mine and your age differs from mine so how is it logical that we both use the same skin product for breakouts. We need different strengths of cleansers and toners. Do you kind of understand what I am getting at?
Here is my STRONG SUGGESTION for you. I refer all my students and patients to this website:
www.aboutyourskincare.com
You need to consult with professionals and on this website YOU CAN ASK QUESTIONS FOR FREE AND A SKIN EXPERT/PHYSICIAN WILL ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS. It would be a shame if you dont take advantage of this free service.
Lastly, they have incredible products for breakouts and they make them specifically for every kind of skin type. That means that if your breakouts are more severe than mine, than while we both will buy the same product yours will have stronger ingredients than mine will.
They have a mild glycolic acid cleanser that's great for your type of skin and also a DRYING LOTION ( I have 3 bottles) that you put directly on your breakouts and the next day it's gone. It's truely magic in a bottle.
A basic guideline for properly taking care of your skin is this ( now if you're a young girl you will need fewer products than this):
Night time:
1. Exfoliate the skin
2. Mild Glycolic Acid Cleanser
3. Mild Glycolic Acid Toner ( cleans off the excess debris and balances the PH level of the skin).
4. Drying Lotion used only on breakouts
5. Moisturizer
Morning:
1. Mild Glycolic Acid Cleanser
2. Moisturizing cream
The above is a standard you may need to only use one or two products. Visit: www.aboutyourskincare.com

I had acne in my 20's. I am 31.
What worked for me was a scrub. I bought a product off of ebay called Carly's Clear and Smooth that worked like a charm.
Also, try cleansing cloths either from Neutrogena or Oil of Olay. Use a mask, I use one almost daily to absorb the oil. Try something gentle like Helene's egg yolk mask or make a mask of egg yolks, or Elizabeth Arden. Make sure you get something gentle, if your face starts burning or getting red, take off the mask because it's not gentle enough. Also an astrigent wiped on the face with a cotton square helps. Try Clinique or Noxzema brand.
Spot treat pimples with On the Spot treatment from Neutrogena.
For the day, good old face powder on your nose will help a shiny appearance.
I use Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Stress Control.
It works really well for me.
I have the same problem as you, my nose gets all greasy and everything.
I see results within a couple of days.

Whats the best treatment or cure for hormonal acne?
Any skincare products/treatments, homeopathic or conventional medicine, that you know have really worked..i'm based in the UK. Thank you!Whats the best treatment or cure for hormonal acne?
a broad spectrum antibiotic such as oxytetracycline (500 mg twice daily) or doxycycline (100mg once daily) sould be sufficient enough, long term therapy maybe required. benefits are optimum after 4-6 weeks.
for me face wash didn't work and peroxide makes your skin look like sh1t.Whats the best treatment or cure for hormonal acne?
if you find it, please let me know, I've had severe acne for over 12 years since the age of eleven, and despite all the medications and creams, I still have it, now 24 years old its got me very down, it was decided that I couldn't take Roaccutane, as I'm already depressed and taking it would only probably make me jump off a cliff or similar, I've heard that laser treatment can be effective (N-lite) however its very expensive, not yet available on the NHS, and if you don't treat the cause of the acne inside, the spots are likely to return. I'm now trying herbal remedies, which don't have nasty side effects to your body and have been told that zinc is very good for anyone with acne, about 50mg a day, I've also been trying Dandelion organic herbal tea, however be warned, it tastes gross, but its worth a try, go to your nearest herbal shop or similar, ask the person behind the counter, I did, explain your problem and they may well be able to give you advice on what to take, also Tea tree soap which is antibacterial is good for washing an acne prone face, good luck.
The management depends on the severity of the condition. Mild disease may respond to simple cleanser/degreaser preparations. These are mostly based on peroxide and many are available over the counter. The next step would tend to be an antibiotic, topical if the acne is very localised, and oral if it is more general and involves the back and shoulders. This is usually combined with a cleanser and needs to be used for many months or sometimes as much as a few years. The choice of antibiotics used orally is quite limited, now usually lymecycline, minocycline or erythromycin.
The final choice is Roaccutane, this is only prescribed by specialist hospital dermatologists due to its side effect profile. Occasionally UV light treatment is also given.
Whenever I get acne, I always put a dab of white toothpaste on the pimple or pimples. It really does work. but don't use gel toothpaste. I use Pepsodent, but I don't know if they have that in U.K.

i think i've tried almost everything out in the market...to no avail...the only thing that is proven to work for me is what a skin doctor (dermatologist) can prescribe...
but throughout my years i've noticed that if you just keep your face clean (soap and water) and avoid mashing the phone against your face...resting your hands on your face...etc you can avoid most of your problems...
p.s. don't fall for that pro-active crap...it did nothing but waste my time and money...
i use proactive and if you use it every day it does work.
it took about two months for my face to clear up but i guess it all depends on each individual person.
right now proactive has some free sample thing so you could try it and if it doesnt help then don't order it.
neutrogena has really good products too.
a natural alternative to all of those items,
raw unpasteurized apple cider vinegar
heat a qt of water, add 3 tblspns vinegar, make a tent over the pot, cover your head with a towel, steam your face. then dab some vinegar on your skin to clean, do this process 2 more times, then squeeze the blackheads. mix 1/2 water, 1/2 vinegar, chilled, dab on face to close pores and tone skin....
as a skin care routine,
raw unpasturized apple cider vinegar..

Angelina O, has found that applying ACV topically to her face several times a day (4 or more times) has cured her of a ';very bad complexion';. She reports that she applies it straight and that while it burns her skin a bit, it still works like a miracle!
Cheryl writes, ';My daughter developed a case of moderate acne, and after trying a number of different things for over a year which helped very little or not at all, she started drinking 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar three times a day and applying it topically once at night. She has been acne free for two months. It took about three weeks to clear up.';
to drink it, put it in honey and water, or apple juice--tastes like cider..cost is 5 dollars a qt at the healthfood store
Wash your face!
try using Neutrogena Rapid Clear Acne Defense Face Lotion, around $7 to $8.. i've been using it for a month and so far, i haven't had breakouts anymore.. but you have to be sure to use a moisturizer with sunblock (at least SPF15) since it contains salicylic acid which is the strong ingredient in fighting acne.. the bad side is it can dry your skin, but the moisturizer will also fix that problem for you.. i have oily skin so it's not really a bad thing for me..
I suggest you to go for natural one; others definitely have side effects. A good face pack of neem leaves with a pinch of turmeric is also very good for acne prone skin. More home remedies available at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/acne.html
To get rid of acne. Try a gentle cleanser. One that is glycerin or sorbitol based will be good and it does not need to be expensive. Cetaphil and Neutrogena has some pretty good ones. Try Cetaphil庐 Gentle Skin Cleanser.
Proactiv works for some people it clears up for a while but acne may come back. It is also very harsh on your skin and may dry it all up, definitely not for people with sensitive skin. My friend said it corroded and bleached her metal sink so if it can do that to the sink, think of what it is doing to your face. So Proactiv is a no no.
Wash your face at least twice a day and everytime after you perspire. If your skin is the oily kind, you do not need to apply any moisturizer, your skin oils are enough to keep it hydrated. If you really must apply a gentle light oil free one. Cetaphil庐 Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF 15 or Cetaphil庐 Moisturizing Lotion is quite good
Apply pimple cream to the acne area. Try benzoyl peroxide low strength(2.5%) first. Don't pick poke scrub or pop your pimples unless you want scars which are really ugly. Scrubbing cleansers or washes are also no-nos because it equals picking and poking and makes acne worse Treated pimples gently.
Eat healthy. Make sure you drink plenty of water. Cut down on sugar and carb intake. Foods like chocolates, coffee, soda drinks, bread, rice potatoes or anything starchy and sugary are no-nos. Cut down on oily and fried foods also. Go for grilled, steamed or baked food. Make sure you eat lots of fruits and vegetables. Ensure that your diet is rich in vitamin A, C, E and Omega-3 which are important for the skin. Less stress and sleeping enough is also important. Not having enough sleep is like putting stress on your body. Makes sure you sleep at least 8 hours a day.
If you are a smoker. Try to quit. Smoking causes a lot of damage to your skin because it introduces toxins to it. These toxins can clog the pores or make the skin harder to breathe and that鈥檚 when the acne bacteria set in. The toxins also cause longer healing of the acne as well as the marks and scars left behind by acne.
If all else fails and your acne is still very bad, it is time to see a dermatologist. The pills and medications do work but you may have to take them long term to suppress the acne as it is not a cure and acne is a chronic disease. However the pills are not miracles and you won鈥檛 see results in 2-3 days. It normally takes about 2 weeks to see the difference. However not all dermatologists prescribe pills unless your acne is really bad. The pills will include antibiotics, accutane and contraceptives. If your acne isn鈥檛 that bad, dermatologists will prescribe topical creams first. If you are really going to a dermatologist, I suggest asking about a product known as Retin-A that treats acne and acne marks and heals the scars.

Acne treatment suggestions?
anyone have any suggestions for pimples...home remedies? even store bought? anything that really works! thanx! ;)Acne treatment suggestions?
I just bought my son the Clearasil Ultra Acne Solution System. It's around $20 at Walmart. It's a 3 step system plus has a 4hr spot treatment cream. It's supposed to be used twice each day. We noticed significant improvement after the first use!Acne treatment suggestions?
I'm 15, so I'm in the major years of acne for a guy, and I swear by Proactiv. If you don't like that, then Clean %26amp; Clear offers an excellent set that is as good, if not better than Proavtiv. Exercise helps. Try vitamin A, but not too much, and don't pick at pimples, it not only spread the bacteria that is in that one, but can/will cause scarring. Don't eat as much fast food, if you do at all, keep it to at the most 3 times a week, but the less the better. Good Luck. If you have more ?'s email me at kevin_hasenpflug@yahoo.com

What is the best treatment for acne?I am 12 years old.?
I am 12 years old and i want to get rid of my pimples and zits,
i wash my face 3 times a day and use some things,
but nothing works.
i want to get rid of my acne, i think it is horrible.
i dont have a lot, but they are mostly on my forehead. What is the best treatment for acne?I am 12 years old.?
Wash your face with Aveeno moisturizing bar, they sell it at Wal mart for pretty cheap.
%26amp; most importantly buy spectrum UNPASTURIZED apple cider vinegar. they have it at smiths pretty cheap.
I know it sounds horrible vinegar right? well.. I suffered from horrible acne when I was about your age and I only wish I knew about this stuff back then, mix two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar and mix a cup half way full of cold water. if you can't handle the taste put a touch of honey in it. but from experience, the apple cider vin. alone in the water has the best results!
also if you would like to cover up te blemishes, without all the horrid chemicals in cover girl etc foundations, go to ULTA and ask for Bare Escentuals. it's 25$ per foundation but it's SO worth it!!! it also help keep your skin looking nice believe it or not. and it feels so light like you have no makeup on your face whatsoever.
Good luck! What is the best treatment for acne?I am 12 years old.?
Firs thing, see a dermatologist. There are many types of acne and each type requires a different treatment. If you can't get to a doctor, go to walmart and try out 2.5% benzoyl peroxide. Leave a small amount on your skin overnight. Be sure to wear sunscreen so that you don't damage your skin (many acne treatments leave your skin very sensitive to the sun). You have to be very consistent in using acne medications. At first they can make your skin worse, dry and red BUT afterwards the acne begins to disappear. So don't give up too soon.
Be careful about washing your face too often. Acne can be made worse when the skin is stripped of too much oil what the skin does instead is produce MORE oil. Talk to your mom/dad about seeing a doctor.
A big part of it is controlling your diet--

I take doxycycline for acne, it works great, it's just a pill i take twice a day, makes my skin look and feel GREAT. You have to have it prescribed to you by either your doctor or dermatologist.
use proactive that really works trust me
A lot of people use Proactiv..if your acne gets worse than that, you may need to see a dermatologist for a prescription for something else. Hope this helps! :)psoriasis treatment

Acne treatment hints?
I have a terrible acne problem. I eat healthy, I use products a doctor recommended, but the pimples that i'm bothered by are the little bumps that is still noticible underneath coverup. And ideas on how to get rid of the acne bumps?Acne treatment hints?
Exfoliate once or twice a week. Use a toner after you wash your face.
Are you using a solid, gentle face wash (Aveeno clear complexion)
Toner is witch hazel and balances the skin.
I love the exfoliant by Booth's - it's crushed apple and found at Rite Aid.

Acne Treatment Immunity?
I've been struggling with acne for awhile and everyonce in a while I'll start on a product that works like magic for the first months or so, but then it's almost like my skin builds up an immunity to it and it won't work at all. :( Is this possible? And if not explain.Acne Treatment Immunity?
I've been in that situation and there is really nothing you can do about it. There are things you can do to try to reduce the blemishes and get rid of acne/pimples temporarily but you will always be finding yourself cleaning your face or your body depending on where it's at.
I mean of course your acne should go away eventually but for some this is the case their whole life.
I'm 29 years old and have been suffering from these little pests since I was a teenager. I tried all sorts of face washes from the local grocery store and what not, but nothing seemed to work. If anything it would just make my skin dry and itchy.
Literally the best acne face wash I've ever used has been this stuff called clearpores. It has got rid of the acne to quickest and has been a success ever since I got it. It's unique cause of it's herbal supplement you take a long with it that helps your skin from the inside out. I saved money on it at skincleansingsystem.com at the time which was helpful.
You should really look into this stuff and if you can to assure the best results, get the 3 month supply because if it doesn't work it will still save you butt on the return policy.
Well good luck and best wishes.Acne Treatment Immunity?
different kinds of acne. I use lava soap. not every day and only where i have acne. it will pull the oils out of you skin and you can tell. my wife thought i was crazy untill she tried it and it worked for her also.

Acne treatment-makeup-suncreen... question?
I just started taking Minocycline for my acne treatment. I read that I need to use a sunscreen because minocycline can make my skin more sensitive to sunlight and sunburn. Can I use makeup that contains suncreen instead of an actual sunscreen? I'm guessing makeup containing suncreen isn't as effective, but am I really in a position where I need full-on protection from the sun??Acne treatment-makeup-suncreen... question?
Most dermatologists don't recommend you wear make-up that often when you are trying to get rid of acne. the oils from the make-up do not help.. or slow down the process.
so i suggest you buy make-up (foundation) that is ';non-comedgetic'; or ';hyperallergenic'; or that says ';won't clog pores';
sorry.. i probably spelled some words wrong..Acne treatment-makeup-suncreen... question?
depends if you usually burn or tan in the sun. if your white then deffinetly buy a sunscreen . if you tan then i doesnt matter too much
It is better to buy a sunscreen instead. The makeup usually rubs off more easily. You can also try a sunscreen in you moisturizer. This absorbs more easily into the skin and gives you a good protection. I am currently use a product that also needs me to use spf and I wear a moisturizer with spf. I wear Philosophy and Clinique has some great well as well.

Acne treatment program?
I used to use Proactiv and it worked just fine, but after a while it didn't work as well. Now I'm trying to start this skinId program and I'm wondering has anybody tried both, and how do they feel about them? (It really sucks I have to use these again Its only because I have these pregnancy acne problems, i grew out of my acne issues already!)Acne treatment program?
Neutragena products work great for me... I use the face wash every day when I take a shower and I barely get any pimplesAcne treatment program?
Well if you have acne a great skin wash neutrogena's acne treatment cleanser, and also if you want to get rid of zits (or anything like that) fast, just put on this ointment called zinc oxide and it will heal the zit (or anything like that) overnight. My sister has tried both those skin programs, but after a while it was like they got use to her skin and stopped working for her.
I've tried the plain neutrogena skin program, not the id. and they claimed to be better than proactive but all it did was dry my skin out soooo bad and it burned whenever i tried to put the lotion on it.
i really don't like any of the products you can get over the counter medicines because they really don't work.
i would say going to the dermatologist would be your best chance of clearing your skin

Acne treatment Problem?
Every time that I start a new acne treatment my skin gets worse! Is this normal?Acne treatment Problem?
no you need to see a dermatologist, and they will find the right treatment for you. It takes at least 3 months for any acne treatment to fully clear up your face, but with the right treatment you should see results after two weeks. By the way, supermarket creams etc DO NOT WORK!! You need prescription medicine from a doctor/dermatologist.Acne treatment Problem?
the medication may be too strong, continue to tell your doctor about the problems you are experiencing.
A prescription from the dermatologist should probably do the trick. I'm currently on Accutane and it works miracles :]
I have found that has always happened to me until i got pro activ
Some acne medicines do this (like Accutane)....but its only for the first few weeks and then it begins clearing up
maybe ur skin is sensitive or easily irritated by the treatments

Acne treatment: prescription or?
what is the best acne treatment like proactive?? or is it better to get it a prescribed one?Acne treatment: prescription or?
I am 24 yo female who has acne since 12. The BEST thing I have found to work is ';Tea Tree Oil'; I can only find it at Vitamin Shoppe it is a chain store or you can go online. I have tried prescriptions which make you sensitve to sun light, are expensive and don't work. With Accutaine (spelling) it causes deadly birth defects if you were to become pregnant. Most doctors won't prescribe it unless you take birth control with it.
With Tea Tree Oil it comes like a cleaning pad 50 in a pack. Use it twice a day. There is also an ointment to use on actual bumps to help them go away quicker. The only bad thing about the product is it stinks. Trust me it works well enough you can get by with the odor.Acne treatment: prescription or?

Does anyone have some great acne treatments?
I've used Proactiv which didn't work for me. List treatments and home remedies that have worked for you. Thank you :)Does anyone have some great acne treatments?
i know a lot of products that work i have tried every product on the shelf you name it iv tried it. iv had acne since i was 12 not the kind that completely covers my face but pretty bad to where iv never had clear results untill now....
i have dumped hundereds of dollars and spent months and months figureing out what products creat the perfect formula for my acne...
Cleansers:
i find having two cleansers one to cleanse regularly and one to cleanse in the shower helps
1. Biore revitalize 4-in-1 self foaming cleanser *oil-free*
2. Aveeno complection clearing *oil-free* soap bar for the
shower.
Lotion/serum:
i have very oily skin so i tend not to use lotion but i have come to find out that not useing lotion after washing or whatever it is your trying to dry you acne out with can make your acne worse, your oil glands will actually work harder producing more oil to naturally hydrate and moisturize you skin which causes clogging of the pored to build more acne, using an oil free moisturizer or serum which is better for those with oily skin can cancle out the effect and help your skin when finding the right products
1. Biore Nourish *oil-free* moisturizer lotion with vitimins A/C/E
*vitimin A is an vitimin which helps heal the cause of acne which is also a majority in Accutane proscribed by dermatologists.
2. Biore restore skin boosting night serum *oil-free*
*with vitimins A/C/E/ which can also be used during the day, i find works better for a moisturizer let me tell you amazing!
Extras:
1. clean and clear oil absorbing sheets*
* for men or women: blotting these on your face when ever you feel a shine greasyness or splurg of oil can take that right off your face no more napkins or tissue paper to rub the grease in!
Repair lotions for the existing pimple:
1.Persa-gel 10 tube* benzol peroxide: calm the existing pimples and medicate your pores
last but not least:
1. i have also found the nertrogina rejuvination system tool with the rejuvinating pads have exfoilated tightened and shrunk my pores so much to where sometimes i look as if i have perfect skin i cant believe it but it has helped the most in clearing my faceDoes anyone have some great acne treatments?
It's difficult to say what would work on you when I don't know what you've tried. Also everyone's skin is different and while one treatment might work miraculously on one person, it could actually make another person's acne worse.
My advice would either be to see a dermatologist. If you can't afford that, determine your skin type and get a cosmetic product that is specifically designed to treat that skin type. When I was 13 or so, I got my skin type analyzed and found a product to clear up my skin at a department store's cosmetic area. I don't know if all department stores do it but I'm pretty sure that they do.
Also, I would recommend that whatever you find, use consistantly. If the product bottle says ';use daily'; on it, don't use it one day, skip a few days, and then use it another day. Keep up with your treatments. Also, don't use the product too much. Overuse of the product can actually irritate your skin and make your acne worse.
You also might want to make some adjustments to your diet. You might want to increase your water intake to flush out the bacteria in your acne. Just make sure that you towel off whenever you sweat. Also, eat more fruits and vegetables. If you absolutely can't get that extra serving in, try adding a multivitamin if you aren't taking one already.
That's all I can think of for now. Good Luck,
Permanently Cure Your Acne
http://permanently-cure-your-acne.blogsp鈥?/a>
i just use clear-asil.
or whateverrrr.
but when you take off your make up at night or whenever.
use witch hazel and a cotton ball.
it helps your acne get better.
If you have an oily skin wash your face twice a day in warm salty water. This should leave your face oil free without aggravating the pimples like soap. The secret of keeping the skin clear is to keep it oil-free and clean. If you have a dry skin honey is a great remedy for acne and pimples because the honey kills bacteria. If you have a combination skin when you wash your face, use sugar to scrub it, at least once a day, for two weeks to rid yourself of acne. More such solutions at http://solutionsforpimples.blogspot.com/
I use the Oil Free Acne Cleanser with Microclear Technology by Neutrogena. It's in an Orange bottle. Make sure it says ';With Microclear Technology'; on it. And always moisturize your skin if it feels tight. I use the Soft Day Moisturizer with SPF 15 by Clean and Clear.
Homemade Remedies:
Apple Zinger Facial Mask (Oily and Acne Prone Skin)
Take 1 medium size apple, grated fine, 5 tbs. honey. Mix the grated apple and honey well. Smooth over skin and let sit for 15 minutes. Rinse off with cool water.
Cool as a Cucumber Yogurt Facial (Normal/Oily Skin)
1/2 cucumber
1 Tbsp plain yogurt
Puree cucumber in blender mix in yogurt, apply to face. Leave on for 30 minutes. Rinse well.
Honey Mask (Oily/Blemished Skin)
Massage a small amount of slightly heated honey onto skin and leave on for 10-15 minutes. Be sure to wash off all the honey with lukewarm water or the honey left will clog your pores, resulting in more acne. Wheat germ may be added for its abrasive action, protein and nutrients.
Pineapple Olive Oil Mask
In a blender, combine 4 large pineapple chunks or 1/2 cup canned, drained pineapple and 3 tablespoons olive oil. Blend until almost smooth. Apply mixture to face with fingertips and leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse face with warm water and pat dry.
Tomato Blemish Remedy
1 tomato, ripe, chopped
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 T instant style oatmeal or old fashioned rolled oats
Blend all ingredients until just combined, in a paste. Apply to blemished skin, making sure the mixture is thick enough to stay in place. Leave in place 10 minutes. Remove with damp washcloth, and rinse and tone. Plain tomato juice can be applied for about 15-20 minutes and is the one of the best method to reduce pores and this also helps with the excess oil in the face.
Honey Yogurt Exfoliating Facial Scrub
Mix 1 teaspoon of granulated sugar with 陆 teaspoon of honey and 1 teaspoon of plain yogurt. Smooth the mixture over your face and leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse off using lukewarm water.
Oatmeal Exfoliating Facial Scrub
Mix one pack of instant oatmeal with water to create a paste. Once the paste is formed, dab the mixture onto your entire face. Let the mixture set for approximately 2 minutes and rinse off with cold water. According to experts oily skin should be treated with an oatmeal mask to get good results. Oatmeal when mashed not only acts as a great scrub but also effectively soaks away the excess oil from your face. The usage of oatmeal paste must be followed by a cold water rinse that helps in contracting the pores.
Seawater
Wash your face twice a day in warm, salty water. This helps leave your face clean and oil-free -- without employing any potentially irritating products or soaps.
Toning: Egg Whites
Using egg whites is the cheapest and easiest way to tone your skin at home. Simply separate a few raw egg whites into a bowl and apply directly on the facial skin after cleansing. Let the egg white dry for at least 15 minutes and rinse it off with lukewarm water for an instant glow. For acne, take one egg white and put it directly on top of the pimple for 20 minutes.
Garlic
Peel and mash eight cloves of fresh garlic. Apply to face avoiding the area around the eyes. Leave on for about 15 minutes. Wash off with a warm cloth.
Toothpaste
Put toothpaste on your pimples before you go to bed, should help reduce swelling overnight. Make sure it is the paste not the gel.
Baking Soda Solution
You will need 1 tbsp. baking soda, 1 tbsp. water. Mix together ingredients and apply on face allowing it to sit for 15 minutes before rinsing it with warm water. Baking Soda is very cheap and one box will last you a very long time. You can also use baking soda as an exfoliator: be careful when applying it to your face, since it is a very effective scrub. Massage the baking soda into your skin for ten to fifteen seconds and rinse. Your face is now clear of the surface cells that will cause many acne spots.
Vinegar
Mix some vinegar and salt in a bowl. Pour a little bit in your hand and rub it on the pimples. Soak a face towel in it and dab it on the bumps. Leave it on for 15-20 minutes and rinse it off.
i know a lot of products that work i have tried every product on the shelf you name it iv tried it. iv had acne since i was 12 not the kind that completely covers my face but pretty bad to where iv never had clear results untill now....
i have dumped hundereds of dollars and spent months and months figureing out what products creat the perfect formula for my acne...
Cleansers:
i find having two cleansers one to cleanse regularly and one to cleanse in the shower helps
Good Luck,
Permanently Cure Your Acne

i just use clear-asil.
or whateverrrr.
but when you take off your make up at night or whenever.
use witch hazel and a cotton ball.
it helps your acne get better.

ProActiv works really well for most people. I've used it and it's cleared up my acne. However, for whatever reason, if you stop using it for a while, and then go back to using it, it doesn't always work. I don't know why. It's worked for me, however it hasn't cleared up my acne completely. It's a tricky situation but it does help if you have bad acne.
I've been using it for like 7 months and my skin really hasn't improved. I mean, it works for like a day, but it doesn't do anything to ';prevent acne from coming back'; like the ads say.
It works differently with different people though. Sucks to be me.
i tried it 2 times and i made my skin worse do not buy it it is a trap i called them and they said to keep using it that it happens at first so i used it for 2 months bolth times and it just kept getting worse do not waist you money on it i repeat it dose not work

I struggled with acne for years and I finally found the solution that works for me. We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It's time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!
Those of us who suffer from acne have usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:
1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.
2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.
I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn’t use any drugs or doctors. The truth is that acne can be cured…if we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don’t want us to know.
There is a great website: http://cure-my-acne.info/3daycure/
that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.

Oxy Balance Acne Treatment for Sensitive Skin The One Acne Treatment That You Should Be Using But Probably Aren't!
Why Clear Skin Is A Difficult Task Acne sufferers go a long time without having any success with getting immaculate skin. If you desire this right now, then have a look at what the natural acne treatment in this article will do for you.
Actually, I must correct myself immediately: it's not really an acne treatment, but it's a treatment for a lot of ailments. And this natural remedy that I am talking about is Bentonite Clay.
Section 2. Bentonite Clay Is A Superior Acne Treatment Bentonite Clay has been extensively used by many people and they have ';all'; had major breakthroughs. Before I talk about Bentonite Clay in terms of what it is and how it works, I must explain a simple concept of life that acne patients' just don't ';get';.
The concept of life I want to talk about is this: ';the human body is constantly trying to clean itself from the inside';.
You have to understand this. Your body has been put together by a unique network of capillaries, blood vessels, nerves, vital internal organs, and so many more complex systems. These systems all work together to protect your body and to keep it clean from the inside. On the outside of your body, you have orifices that can permit the entry of dangerous toxins, bacteria, viruses, and various other poisonous substances. And such toxins come from your food, cigarette smoke, vehicular traffic, smog, drugs, alcohol, air pollution, and generally any form of pollution itself.
Section 3. Your Body's Channels Of Elimination The human body gets rid of toxins through various ';channels of elimination';. I refer to them as primary and secondary channels.
The primary channels of elimination for toxic substances are the anus and urethra. Most of the unwanted waste is passed out in your urine or faecal matter. Now the problem for acne patients begins right in the small and large colon. Basically what I mean is that your body will get rid of toxins via these two routes first before it attempts to use use the secondary channels, but the problem arises when the small and (especially) the large colon become congested. if you need more open this link

Laser Acne Treatment? Laser Treatment for Acne Scars?
If you have ever had either of these two procedures done do they work???
I dont have bad acne, but I used to break out in High School, leaving some scarring, not bad, and I break out occasionally now...
Wanting to get this done....
Any information, or advice please??
I dont want to waste my money or mess something on me up!
ThanksLaser Acne Treatment? Laser Treatment for Acne Scars?
I used to have bad acne in high school, which also left scarring. I've never done the laser treatment for 2 reasons: the price, and too nervous to try it. Instead, I did the chemical peels once every few weeks, then once the larger scars were gone, I had touch ups done with microdermabrasion. It was a lot less costly, and although it took longer, the results are wonderful! Best of luck!Laser Acne Treatment? Laser Treatment for Acne Scars?
Laser treatment for acne or acne scars do work. One kind of laser that is popular is the Smoothbeam Laser.
It works by fighting acne at the source, emitting a wavelength of light that is absorbed by the water in your skin. Because the skin is made up of over 80% water, this method is very effective. You will see changes within a few days but it is recommended that you undergo treatment at least every 6 months.

Acupuncture as an acne treatment?
Has anyone used acupuncture as a treatment for acne and if so how effective did they find it? I am also interested in the same question in regards to excemaAcupuncture as an acne treatment?
i have had acupuncture for a trapped nerve in my back and it helped but i am not sure about a treatment for acne or excema
they are both different to back painAcupuncture as an acne treatment?
Absolutely useless for both conditions! The largest study comparing acupuncture with placebo needling recently failed to show it had any actual effect on anything, beyond that of placebo!
I wouldn't recommend it. I have tried similar stuff in the past and it made my acne worse! I don't have any problems with spots and acne now but I used to get them really bad. At one point I was seeing specialists and trying every remedy available regardless of the side effects. Nothing seemed to work. A couple of years ago i stumbled across advice from an on-line book - no messing it changed my life! Simple stuff but really effective. I recommend it to loads of people. You can find it at www.free webs.com/acnenomore. P.s. It costs a quid but its worth it. Hope this helps

Whats your favorite acne treatment?
I don't have bad acne, just some bad spots here and there on my forhead expecially, and my skin is oily.
i'm going to the store today and i want to try a new face scrub/wash and acne clearing lotion or pads or just something.
if you have any suggestions at all of what worked for you
i would appreciate it, thanks :]Whats your favorite acne treatment?
Retin-A. Without a doubt the best available anywhere in the world. The only problem is you need a prescription for it.Whats your favorite acne treatment?
I go to a dermotologist and I'm on antibiotics and Differin and I only get one or two pimples in a month.
As for store stuff, it's a lot of trial and error. You have to do whatever you get exactly as the directions say (as in, no skipping) and do it for six months. If you don't see any improvement in six months, then switch to a new product. It'll do you no good to switch to a new product after one month. Pretty much anything with benzoil peroxide is good enough, from what I've read. And also, Neutragena makes these oil absorbing wipes, and they're great to stuff in your wallet or purse or pocket in case you face feels yucky during the day. I have an oily face, too, and I really need them in the spring when it's super humid.
i think the best is to get clean n clear scrub,
and olay moisturizer.
it scrubs the dirt out,
and then cleans off dead skin and stuff.
don't don't don't get proactive.
it is very iffy and it doesn't work just as much (if not more) than it does.
i hope that helped!
my doctor told me about something called panoxyl i use it all the time nd so far its been great nd i was spotty on the back nd a bit on face now its like perfect so yh i highly recommend it, just get it from pharmacists or boots etc.
you could try dermalogica its a little more expensive but I think its a good one and my face feels very clean after using it.
Biore is the BEST

Dry skin and acne treatment?
I have been using Proactiv (I have mild acne) for about a week now and the first 4 days were fine, but then my skin started getting dry and a little flaky so I stopped using the face mask and went to using it once a day....still getting dry skin.
Do you think using a little bit of moisturizer about an hour or so after applying the Proactiv would be decrease the actual effects of Proactiv (actually decreasing the amount of acne)?Dry skin and acne treatment?
ack! please stop using proactiv! I used it on my acne and it gave me scars. Visit a dermatologist and they can give you a personalized skin care system, trust me it's worth it (i didn't even have insurance when I went) Dry skin and acne treatment?
I used to have dry skin, but i used a moisturizer called E45 cream, and now my skin is not dry and looks much healthier! I would recommend you to buy it because it works really well! :)
For me, Proactiv never worked, but it works for many other people so I don't want to discourage it.
But if you have mild acne I would recommend using all natural Witch Hazel Formula.
It may take a while for your acne to clear up, but eventually it will.
Witch Hazel helps cleanse pores and it reduces redness. I use it twice a day, and my skin always stays smooth and clean, and it never gets dry or oily.
You can buy it at most drug stores.
I hope I helped!
Maybe try using proactive at night and using a different face wash in the morning.. for example Cetaphil face wash. it is sooo moisturizing. it cured my dry face. and it is very gentle and clean and does not affect your acne. You really should go to a derm though!! they will help you. I've heard proactiv is evil. :)
If you are still getting dry skin after switching to once a day, then you might want to consider using the mask even less. Perhaps once or twice a week?

What acne treatments actually work?
I'm in my early teens, and I have acne and hate it! concealer doesn't cover it very well, and I have sensitive skin so a lot of stuff that I've tried have just irritated it more. what has worked for you? thanks-will pick best answer! What acne treatments actually work?
Okay well I think Clearasil Ultra works really well. There is a face wash, toner, moisturizing lotion (great for sensitive/dry skin) and a quick pimple remover cream. The great part is, it all rubs in so you are not stuck with goop all over your face! I am in my early teens as well, and that works really well. I also use Neutrogena Exfoliating facewash in the morning with an oil-free acne clearing moisturizer. This keeps my skin toned, oil free and moist so my acne treatments don't irritate my skin. Best of luck to you and feel free to mail me if u have any questions :)What acne treatments actually work?
well i cleanse, tone and moisturize my skin once daily and i think it helps me...and i use a scrub once every 15 days...eat right...exercise...that's what everyone says...but if you go to a beauty salon or something like that, they'll tell you what'll be best for you...
all the best!
Drink lots of water, do lots of cardio, don't pick or touch your face, can just wash it with water as its most gentle
try neutrogena the green one or the orange one. wash face everyday while taking a bath.
get a facial! i just got one and it seems to be helping ALOT
For me, Retin-A Micro and Duac Topical Gel have worked wonders. They can be perscribed to you by your dermatologist. If theres one thing I've found out through trial and error it's that regular over the counter do not work at all. I would suggest taking a trip to the local dermatologist to get things under wraps. Besides, insurance pays for almost all of it and by seeing a professional, you get the best product. I tell you this from experience. Good Luck!
Proactiv worked for me, but it doesn't for everybody. It is worth a try though and I believe that have a trial available.
Proactiv has worked.
oil eliminating astringent from neutrogena, it stings a lil but thats how you know it works ;]

Hmm, well the thing is, if you stop acne coming out now, your gonna get it when your about 60. And its worse. My nan has it really bad cause she put vinegar on it to make it go away. Most vinegars now wont clear acne anymore.
I'm in my late teens, and I still have it. I'm just leaving it alone, cause most treatments only irritate it, and make it worse. I hate acne too, but its a part of like [a very uglee part] but just let it be and it will clear up.
It depends on your skin type. You said you ahve sensitive skin, so sensitive skin wont tolerate many treaments. Believe my I've got sensitive skin and tried everything available.
just wash your face everyday morning and night or use proactive... :)
ProActive worked the best for me ... but I stopped using it because it completely ruined my $100 sheets!! Big bleach spots all over from the peroxide. So P-Oed!!
Honestly, it's all trial and error. You have to keep trying until you find one that works for you ... but you have to use it for at least a month for your skin to get acclimated to it.
If stuff you have tried irritated it more, maybe you should try a natural approach that won't cause irritation or dryness...
Wash with a natural soap two or three times a day. (mix in a tablespoon of baking soda while washing your face once a week to exfoliate)
Wipe with witch hazel to control bacteria that is associated with acne.
Touch up dry areas with a thin vegetable oil such as olive or sunflower. Wipe off any excess after 10 minutes.
Done. Easy. Effective. Simple. Cheap. Non-Irritating.

I don't know the best, but I know that Proactiv is the worst. All proactiv does is dry out the parts of your skin that are clear and aggrivate your pimples so they are redder and bigger!! So you now have dryface with big red zits. Don't use it.What is the best acne treatment ?
my daughter uses toothpaste
i think clinique's acne kit is good im using it now....iv tried pretty much everything proactive, acnefree, clean %26amp; clear and alot of other stuff but....i saw the most results with clinique!
honestly, noting rly works.
but i use neutragena acne face wash.
i just use tht bc it's like soap but it wont over dry ur face.
it works alright i guess.
but to be honest, i dont rly think anything can rly take acne away.
Clinique's 3 step acne kit for sure. I have also tried multiple products including ProActiv but the Clinique stuff works awesome.

I have pretty bad acne i would LOVE to clear up. So, what's the best acne treatment out there? What's the best acne treatment?

acne.org has a GREAT method.
The use of laser as an acne treatment gives a lot of favorable results. It is a bit expensive though. The process of laser treatment varies from one individual to another. There are people who discover that the mixture of light and radio frequency develops excellent outcome. The energy of radio frequency helps the skin become firm due to its heat. The distinctive kilowatt light rays has the ability to eliminate acne-causing bacteria, while the laser combines to the total result of healing and cosmetic improvement.
Well i didn't have ';bad acne'; but i used to break out really really bad on my forehead because i used to wax my eyebrows.. not only did i break out but my forehead was sooo oily!! It's funny because i only waxed my eyebrows once when i was 16 for the 1st time and then suddenly i get all of these pimples!! Ugh then i realized how sensitive my skin was when it came to waxing.. i decided to use thread to take out my eyebrows instead which turned out to be so much better for my skin...any who
i used this tropical gel called DUAC to get rid of the pimples that were on my forehead...You need to get a prescription for it from your doctor.. but it really cleared up my forehead!! Literally everything went away...The only thing that bothered me when i was using this product is that it made my skin dry.. but usually most of these acne treatments do that...
The main ingredient in DUAC is clindamysin and benzoyl peroxide...in any tropical gel you should look for these ingredients because they are what you need to get rid of ur acne...
For more information on DUAC such as the prescription information or reviews from other people who used their products.. you should visit their website:
http://www.duacgel.com/duacpro/aboutduaccs.htm
(haha, i sound like an advertisement AD lool)
It really cleared up my skin... i even use it today when i have a blemish or two... it does wonders! You should try it and hopefully it'll do you some good! Good luck!!!
I saved money on it at skincleansingsystem dot com at the time which was helpful.
You should really look into this stuff and if you can to assure the best results, get the 3 month supply because if it doesn't work it will still save you butt on the return policy.
Well good luck and best wishes.psoriasis treatment

Wash your face twice a day. Use benzoyl peroxide at night and salicylic acid in the morning. Don't pick. Moisturize if you dry out too much, but use products meant for those with acne.
I swear by Retin-A. Gel, cream or liquid, but prescription only in the U.S.A.
Proactive for sure...
sounds silly but honestly-Colgate toothpaste dabbed on at night dries out blemishes quickly

none of things seemed to help my skin, and i used to have severe acne problems. i still have the acne, just not severe, maybe just mild now. i take birth control, which is helping my face, within two weeks of taking it my face cleared up about 40%. i also use rubbing alcohol to clean it daily. the results i got were shocking. i just still have pimples under and around my chin and some on my cheeks, but nothing really really noticeable. we are also around the same age.
good luck.
=)
i personally have never had very strong acne, but when i did start to break out i bought Pro active. and it really worked for me. i still use it today even though i don't have any pimples. it keeps my skin smooth and healthy, %26amp; i would really recommend it:)
It really depends on what skin type you have. Noxema works really well for normal skin, Proactiv works well if you have oily skin.
just use dove soap bar. it works best. or use what is called the black soap. its also a soap bar as well. u can find them in walmart.
clinique skin care system! i had the same problem..but not anymore I swear it is the best product on the market.
I use May Kay acne cream it is the best stuff ever I swear it works miracles. kat

Hey Viking
Here are some real answers on skin conditions. Remedies at the bottom. Cleansing the body of toxins is the key. Especially a colon cleanse! Educate yourself on detoxifying the blood.
Judyth Reichenberg-Ullman N.D. - ';What is your skin trying to tell you? Often the skin is a metaphor for deeper issues and a way for your body to send up a red flag to warn you that all is not well underneath. When our skin is unhealthy it is usually a reflection of the internal state of our bodies, and is often a sign of poor elimination of toxins and waste products. Most of us are embarrassed by skin problems such as rashes, rosacea, boils or acne, especially in places where others can see our imperfections. The skin is the body's first line of defense against the environment. It has to deal with the effects of weather, sun , cold, heat, dryness, humidity, scrapes, bumps, soaps, detergents, chemicals, perspiration and dirt of all kinds. It is a wonder that our skin stays healthy most of the time! We can help our skin deal with this onslaught by optimizing our general health and by protecting our skin from harsh environmental exposure. Western medicine generally treats skin eruptions with either antibiotics, cortisone, or antifungal preparations. These medicines may alleviate the skin problem temporarily, or occasionally for good, but do not address the source of the problem. Putting a lid on skin symptoms without getting to the root of the imbalance may even result in suppression, that means the imbalance may be driven deeper causing more serious health problems later without ever strengthening the underlying vital force of the person. Fortunately, naturopathic medicine offers a wide vareity of effective treatments for skin problems.';
Judyth Reichenberg-Ullman N.D. - ';Your skin is a reflection of how well your body is eliminating the toxins that build up on a daily basis. Chronic skin conditions such as acne, eczema and psoriasis stem from a combination of genetic factors, immune stress, dietary deficiencies or sensitivities, and the accumulation of toxins in the body. For our skin to be radiant and clear, it is very important that the other organs of elimination (kidneys, liver, lungs, and colon) are cleansing the body effectively. If not, the skin will be overtaxed, pores will become clogged, and eruptions of one sort or another will result. Here are a number of steps you can take to improve your body's overall elimination wtih specific emphasis on your skin.';
Detoxification is a normal body process of eliminating or neutralizing toxins through the colon, liver, kidneys, lungs, lymph and skin. Juice Fasting is the world's most ancient and natural healing mechanism. Fasting triggers a truly wondrous cleansing process that reaches right down to each and every cell and tissue in the body.
Learn more about Therapeutic Fasting and Detoxification - Colon Cleansing is the main step. Must remove the toxins from the colon, so the toxins dont get in the blood and cause illness and disease.
Natural Cures
1. Fruits and Vegetables for Acne: Carrot %26amp; spinach, celery %26amp; watercress, grapefruit juices are all useful to combat acne.
2. Unwholesome Foods: Acne, a prevalent problem among teen-aged boys would not be possible in our society if our foods were wholesome. A most sad and disgusting sight is the pus-filled pimples due to inner toxicity --- wastes trying desperately to escape through the face. This condition often turns a gentle face in the blossom of youth into a waste dump of pimples, pus and subsequent pock marks which can be prevented. The tons of acne medications and prescriptions sold annually act only on the effect of the harmful food, and not the cause of the disease, malnutrition. The traditional teenage meal, a grease burger, french fries and a milk shake or cola simply does not provide enough nourishment for anyone, let alone a boy going through puberty to adulthood. Our highly processed foods are devoid of hormones found in fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, nuts and seeds. Must do a colon cleanse to rid of all the toxins in the body, which eventually get into the blood and cause acne and all other diseases.
3. Cabbage: Apply a lotion of freshly prepared cabbage juice preceded, if desired, by the application of leaves. The eating of cabbage leaves or juice is also helpful.
4. Lemon Juice: Skin problems such as acne... will often respond to a treatment of lemon juice. For blackheads rub lemon juice over them each night.
5. Black Walnut: Externally, Black Walnut is nearly a miracle worker in cases of ...acne, dandruff, boils, itch, shingles, ringworm--we could go on, but you can see that you can use Black Walnut whenever a skin disorder appears! The tincture is an excellent first-aid remedy for wounds.
Best of health to youShould this be my acne home treatment routine each day?
I recommend Nivea for Men double action face wash morning and night. Also Loma Lux available on drugstore.com seems to work for me.
I don't think the soap and cream are gonna cut it. You need to buy an acne product that has the medical ingredient benzoyl peroxide in it. This is what fights the acne and prevents future breakouts. There are lots of different products with this, so you just need to find the one that is good for your skin type. A great one is Proactiv.
So I would go with...
1. Cleansing soap
2. Cream that has benzoyl peroxide
3. Moisturizer cream
Cleansing soap and moisturizer cream

3. Moisturizer cream

yes it works, but very time consuming one at a time. you are better of using a treatment if you have quite a few.
no i havent. but i have seen the ads in teen magazines. I think they might work. i hope they do. because i am trying to save up my allowances to get one.

I use Biore Pore Strips AND clean and clear acne treatment kit HELP!?
is this okay to do?I use Biore Pore Strips AND clean and clear acne treatment kit HELP!?
use the pore strips after so that you can wash off the dead skin. Also the acne treatment removes the oils on your face so the strips can stick onto your skin better and stick to those clogged pores.I use Biore Pore Strips AND clean and clear acne treatment kit HELP!?
If you have problems with acne the best thing to do is to go to a esthetician. Go for a facial treatment, and ask them for help on what to do. My mom happens to be one, so trust when I say that if you find a good one, it will help you a LOT! Also there is a product called Vivant you should ask the esthetician about. It works great and my mom has tested it and it is amazing. Also company that is great (my mom is with them) is Sothys. So look for those. Both great brands!
don't use the strips too often, you shouldn't need it..like using an exfoliator, only use it about once a week on problem areas (those strips work magic on my nose). use the acne treatment kit daily or whatever it says to do. i dont think using them together would be that much of a problem..the pore strips don't have any acne-fighting agents in them, they only declog your pores..the only thing i'd worry about is about your face drying out from using them too often.
good luck!
The true test of whether or not it is okay is how you feel afterwards. If your skin is red, burning, or irritated, the combo or one of the products isn't good for you. If none of the above happens, there isn't any harm.
No clean your face first and yeah it is ok to use two acne treatments but your skin will start getting really dry. Clearasil worked wonders for my face so you can try that out.
Of course this is fine, as long as it doesn't irritate your skin. Don't use the biore pore strips too often because it'll cause irriation.
Ya it's fine. Use the strips after you exfoliate and open pores because you'll extract more blackheads.
ok calm down lol, sounds fine to me,, you may also want to wash after the biore as it leave build up on your face....
I Love the Biore Strips. The work great with my skin.
