I recently started using clearasil stay clear but it isn't clearing up my face its just making it worse. Should i switch to another product? What products worked for you? Am i not being patient enough with this cleanser? What is the best treatment for acne?
Well,I do have terrible acne and I found that my skin type is sensitive skin and it makes me harder to find the right products that I could use to reduce my acne. That is when I tried Clinique 3 Steps Skincare Regime and it really works for my acne and now I have less breakouts after 3 months usage and I only need to work on my scars from my previous acne to improve my skin complexion.Since Clinique 3 Steps works for all skin types,I would recommend you to try this product since it has the basics of skincare regime and work wonders on your skin. However, you could also try these homemade remedies if you want to improve your chance of healing.Good luck trying these at home(:
Honey Paste-Another easy and effective homemade acne treatment is to make a paste of honey with cinnamon and nutmeg. All you need is about one teaspoon of cinnamon powder and about half of it nutmeg powder. Add some honey to make enough paste to cover the inflammed area completely. Just lie down as honey may dribble down. Wait for 10 to 15 minutes and wash with luke warm water.
Orange peel-Homemade Acne Treatment using Orange peel has been found very effective. Pound the orange peel with water on a piece of stone and apply to acne affected areas.
Basil tea-Basil tea like neem is effective in killing bacteria. Drinking it twice a day can do wonders to the skin.
Coconut Oil-Coconut oil is a cheap and easily available acne solution. Regular use of coconut oil over a period of time helps to clear your skin.
Lemon Juice-A simple remedy at home for acne: Apply lemon juice regularly to reduce pimples and acne. This has proven beneficial results.
Well, these are the remedies that work gentle on your skin while getting rid of acne.Hope this helps and great skin wishesWhat is the best treatment for acne?
well, firsty , do not listen to the people below because they'r trying to sell you products that do not even work. and neither does clearasil, youll see advertisements everywhere saying ''have a spot free face in less than a month'' , don't be drawn in, its a load of rubbish, only the doctors have medication that can actually make a change to your face, and the best thing yet is something called 'pro-accutane' . its a very serious drug that can have bad side effects, nose bleeds, itchy skin, dry skin, ect,but depending on how desperate you are to get rid of your spots and how severe the acne is, its up to you, if its worth it then its worth it. its just a 2 tablet a day thing for 5 months. and can i please add, its the best treatment youll ever have to have, its gauranteed to work , i think the odds are something like 20,000 to 1 , so its unlikely that this wouldnt work for you. its miracle work , and youl see what i mean should you go on and take the treatment. im currently on it , and after 5 weeks its nearly worked, and i stil have 4months left, the treatment is fairly expensive, but if your under 16 it is totally free, and youll never look back, shocking is not the word
What I do, is I wash my face in the morning and In the afternoon with soap. You can also use a sponge. Make sure the water is warm but not too warm. The sponge and warm water is good for cleansing your pores which is what causes acne in the first place, filthy pores.
Good luck, :)
Proactive or if u have been trying to cure ur acne for a very long time, then I woould recommend Roaccutane. It does have a lot of side effects but I used it and my whole face is clear now(I had sever acne for 5 years).
A facial cleanser could take anywhere from 4-8 weeks for it to show effectiveness. If you aren't seeing any results after that then try going to a dermatologist.

What is the best on the spot treatment for acne, that you can buy w/o a prescription?
My 13 year old brother is getting very large ingrown pimples on his nose, I can tell it embarasses him a lot. Please let me know of any product I can buy, to help him out.
P.s. he already uses proactive, so please suggest something other than that. Thanks!!!!What is the best on the spot treatment for acne, that you can buy w/o a prescription?
Preparation H! Don't tell him that's what it is though! Put it in another container. There is somthing in that stuff that eliminates inflamation and fast! My 16 and 15 yr olds are using it now out of a pill bottle! Thier faces will breakout, but clearup overnight when they use the Preparation H.What is the best on the spot treatment for acne, that you can buy w/o a prescription?
I love Burt's Bees Tea tree oil blemish treatment. It really helps bring down the redness, but it is pretty easy to smell for the people around you, so he won't want to use it except at home.psoriasis treatment

I have been using Proactive for a while now but it doesn't get rid of black heads! I have also tried Acne Free and that is even worse! I need help, can you give me any suggestions on acne treatments that actually work? thanksWhat is the best acne treatment?
If you really want to get rid of your acne there are two recommended ways that should combined together (if you can afford it) for best results.
Firstly and more important, you must learn how you should fix the internal problem that's causing your acne, not just masking the symptoms or getting relief.
There are only few decent Ebooks and acne cure programs that can teach you exactly how to treat your acne from the inside.
Where medicine has failed them the authors have done their own research and found a way to overcome acne. In their guides they share their valuable knowledge with other acne sufferers. Anyhow, be very careful because many of them are pure crap with little value.
Check this article about one of the leading systems today that was helpful for me to cure my acne:

The second thing that you need to do is to get good acne skin product that will be suitable for your skin.
There are many acne skin care products available in the market right now and it's not easy to choose the product that will give you the best results.
When choosing your product make sure to check that you get at least 2 months full guarantee. Some of the big names in the industry are:
ClearPores, Acuzine, Acnezine, Proactiv, Vilante and some others.

I hope that these tips will be helpful for youWhat is the best acne treatment?
The use of laser as an acne treatment gives a lot of favorable results. It is a bit expensive though but it is the best treatment in the market today. The laser equipment used nowadays have already been excellently attuned and improved. The doctors that are using this kind of equipment are already highly trained and skilled. The improvement of laser treatment and equipment had been considered a great innovation in treating not only acne but the lesions as well.
Hmmm... this may depend on your skin type. I know that many products work great on some and on others it doesn't, and it all depends on their skin. I've used Proactive too and for me it didn't really help too much. For me, the best product is Witchhazel, it really has helped clear my skin up, and you can find it probably at any drug store. But another ';acne treatment'; that works the best is doing it the natural way...
1. eat healthy
2. sleep for at least 8 hours a night
3. drink plenty of water (about 6-8 glasses each day)
4. excercise (this one really has worked for me!)
These steps may sound lame, but it's the natural way to get rid of acne and you may be surprised with your results. Use the product that works best for you, and in my case is Witchhazel (use it about twice a day) and then use the natural way of getting rid of it. Give it time and eventually you may notice your skin has improved!
oh, and to get rid of blackheads, try using a tool called a comedome, which is a loop tool to get rid of blackheads Ask your mom or somebody to use it on your blackheads, and they may leave a tiny scar if they're big, but it'll eventually go away and you'll be blackhead free!
I've been in that situation and there is really nothing you can do about it. There are things you can do to try to reduce the blemishes and get rid of acne/pimples temporarily but you will always be finding yourself cleaning your face or your body depending on where it's at.
I mean of course your acne should go away eventually but for some this is the case their whole life.
I'm 29 years old and have been suffering from these little pests since I was a teenager. I tried all sorts of face washes from the local grocery store and what not, but nothing seemed to work. If anything it would just make my skin dry and itchy.
Literally the best acne face wash I've ever used has been this stuff called clearpores. It has got rid of the acne to quickest and has been a success ever since I got it. It's unique cause of it's herbal supplement you take a long with it that helps your skin from the inside out. I saved money on it at skincleansingsystem.com at the time which was helpful.
You should really look into this stuff and if you can to assure the best results, get the 3 month supply because if it doesn't work it will still save you butt on the return policy.
Well good luck and best wishes.
Microdermabrasion. Hands down.
I use this stuff about once every two weeks and my skin has never looked better. I don't break out, my deep pores, blackheads and clogged areas are 100% gone.
I can't even speak enough praise about this product and I recommend it to everyone. It's comparable to professional treatments yet it is affordable to anyone.
On all other days when I don't use the microdermabrasion I use Aveeno Clear Complexion Daily Cleansing Pads.
**And as for what the person below me said, it is NOT just for ';older people skin'; but this company markets it towards elderly people because microdermabrasion is great for wrinkles as well.
I am 24 and use microdermabrasion, it's one of those things all the celebrities use because it makes your face phenomenal. Takes off all the dead skin cells and helps to produce new fresher ones, but it is absolutely NOT an ';old people thing.';
If you go to a dermatologist and ask for microdermabrasion, this is what they'd do to you. Do you think only grandmas go to the dermatologist?!
Plus, it's never too early to start treating the wrinkles that will come on down the line!
Just read the reviews on the site too. There are many early twenties people who use it.**
What cleared my skin up in 2 weeks was Murad Skin Care... It worked miracles LOL. It's a lil pricey though. http://murad.com
If you are a teenager, and your skin is young I wouldn't use the Olay stuff recommended by Katzie because it's designed for older people's skin. It's not for young skin, but what ever... Ask anyone. Believe who you'd like.
if only black heads are the problem... use biore nose strips gets ride of em ALL ( the ones on ur nose ) the reast of your face i would recomend clean , clear and under control morning burst , once in the morning and at night.
I've personally tried Proactive and it didn't help me at all. I recommend Defferin for small breakouts and blackheads. And Aczone for spot treatments. And the occasional microdermal doesn't hurt.
for my face acne i use camomile tea! amazing stuff. i first wash my face with artistry face wash, and then i use a cotton pad soaked in camomile tea to lightly rub on my acne! works wonderfully and doesnt dry out skin.
Every ones skin is different. You really just have to try things out for yourself to see whats best. Everyone reacts different to different types of products.
I agree with Marina, I started using Skin ID about 3 months ago and my acne has cleared up amazingly! Good luck!
Try: '; Clean and Clear Acne Kit';. Just like you I have suffered from severe acne. My mom got it for me and after about a week my blackheads and zits went away! It worked wonders!

Acne Treatment?
When i get stressed out, I have frequent acne breakouts. I use noxema and that helps control the acne, but afterwards dark spots are left. What are some good products that control acne as well as removes the dark spots?Acne Treatment?
First of all, no one has flawless skin. Some people have it better than others, but thats just genes and stuff. Go to www.freewebs .com/reelbeauty11 for skin and beauty tips. I know its for young girls, but it works for anyone!
I know some people who have tried ProActive and it worked, but I also know some others who have tried it and it made it worse :( I know some who have put rubbing alchol on their skin or peroxcide to dry up the pimples. It also kills bacteria :) . Also, try going to a dermotoligist, or ask your regular doctor. Often times the regular doctor, who knows more about your med. history and whatnot can help you more than a dermatologist.
are you a vegetarian? That might have something to do with it. Its worth checking into.
Try dabbing toothpaste or honey on your zits before you go to bed - works wonders.
Overall, remember that beauty counts more on the inside than on the outside, and your true friends will love you for you, and not your skin.
Oh, and try a different kind of foundation, if you wear it. Try to use a kind with lots of water in it. It looks great and doesn't clog pores half as bad. And check your habits - do you prop your chin up a lot with your hands? That might cause the acne as well. Look for the cause, as well as the cure.
Sweat naturally cleanses your skin, so be sure to exercise often!Acne Treatment?
I used Roacotaine by ROCHE. I took it for 6 months, once per day. it worked after 2-3 months all my acne was gone...but I am still suffering from side effects. I don't know why....for so many people it works and the side effects finish after some time but not for me.
However I would suggest you to keep your skin dry. Acne apears on oily skin parts.
You could look into a natural acne cure. See the source below.
I think you should consult a dermatologist, I went to one and paid cash because it was that important to me.. If you think about it they specialize in skin care so they will be able to provide you with the best products for the results your looking for! I was very happy with my results im also african american and it helped that the doctor was too.. Good luck with that :)
if you really need help contact me, futbol491@aol.com i have many options for you.
I have been on every medication out there from acutane to creams for the past 10 years....the ONLY thing that is helping me is laser treatments and acid peels...a little expensive but very worth it. My advice is keep up on washing your face, cleaning pillow cases, dont touch you face and watch out for greasy food. Drink LOTS of water and eat plenty of fresh fruit and veggies. Stress also makes it worse...when i stress out i break out much more.
Retina-A also works great, it drys out your skin which is what i have to do in between my acne laser treatments.
good luck!
Pro Active
you need to tackle it internally. go to a dermitologist for some anitbiotics/accutane. or u can go on the pill. using topical products make the spots worse.
effective way to reduce stress is to do regular deep breathing exercises. Simply take a deep breath in and then out without straining yourself in any way. This mask should help, mix 1 tablespoon of dried or fresh yeast with 2 tablespoons of lemon juice; apply on face, wait until it gets hard (try not to move), peel or wash with warm water. Check out http://useinfo-acne.blogspot.com/ for more useful info.

Best spot acne treatment product?
i know theres the clean and clear as well as the neutrogena acne spot treatment products, but if u know what works best, it'd be much appreciatedBest spot acne treatment product?
Use Neosporin.
NEOSPORIN: It kills bacteria, speeds the healing of wounds, and can minimize the appearance of small scars. Neosporin鈥檚 combination of Bacitracin, Neomycin, and Polymixin-B kills a broad range of bacteria beyond the typical acne treatments such as benzoyl peroxide. Also, unlike BP, Neosporin is unlikely to cause drying since it uses an oil base (something that acne sufferers typically try to avoid - however, it鈥檚 actually the oil underneath the surface that your glands produce which is more likely to become a barrier to clear skin). It also causes reduction of redness makes spots less obvious. Best spot acne treatment product?
The products you listed are rip-offs.
They are the same 10% benzoyl peroxide solutions sold listed as ';spot treatments.';
What I recommend is a brand called, ';Bye Bye Blemish'; or the Proactive Sulfur mask...
or you could go with the Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque (the cheapest solution)
All are great for drying up nasty zits.
Good luck! :)
Toothpaste!
Yes, take the toothpaste and put it on your pimple the night before. It works and it's cheaper than a lot of things.
Of course you should wash your face before applying the toothpaste.
i use witch hazel that works very well give a couple weeks maybe a month it will go away you will see a difference in a couple days

I just bought the magic peeling glove yesterday and as soon as i finished using it, my skin was so much smoother and the next day my skin started to clear up and my skin is pretty bad sometimes; the magic peeling glove gets rid of the dead skin cells and creates new a ';new'; layer of skin.
I have not got ache but at one stage my spots were very aggressive. I tried Frederm from a local chemist. YOu can now get a faxe wash also. This really worked. I would try this and also if you are really worried about it, go to the doctor and see if he can give you any solutions. Hope this helps xXx

How to stop Acne in its tracks:
======================
Acne is caused by oil clogging pores in the skin. Attack this oil source and acne will be more easily to control.
The oil comes from your scalp under the hair. It creeps down your skin to clog pores. This is why the face and shoulders get acne.
To get rid of oil, wash your scalp with a good shampoo for oily scalp/hair, massaging your scalp and rinse off the oil. You should do this at least 25 times a month, meaning shower every day. You may want to include using a special scalp medical shampoo say 2-3 times per month (eg anti dandruff).
Note the shampoo is selected to get rid of oil, if your hair becomes dry, then use a conditioner to suit dry hair. You need to find a conditioner to suit the consequence of showering every day.
Shower your hair first, and then wash the residue off your skin starting from the face and going down. It is important that you shampoo your scalp before the rest of your body, so that the oil is removed from your body afterwards.
Alcohol is a great sterilizing wipe to clean existing oils from your skin also, as some of the oils come from the skin. But don’t overdo it as could dry the skin.
(as a guide I suggest only use alcohol after the pimple patrol below)
Severe Acne sufferers should see a chiropractor as neck miss-alignment can cause acne, especially along the jawbone.
How to stop Acne scarring:
====================
Find the volcano centre part of the pimple by rolling the shank of a pin or needle across the pimple. Gently centre it in a squeeze then using the sterilized pin, prick the centre of the pimple. You may have to prick 3 to 5 mm deep at right angles to the skin, depending on the size of the pimple. The idea is to lance the pimple, to make a hole for the infection to come out. Squeeze the infection out of the hole, just like a volcano erupting. Because the skin has a hole, it is not tearing and there will be no scarring as long as you haven’t squeezed too hard. Remember the idea is to make a hole for it to come out, so the hole has to be accurate and into the infection core.
Sterilize the skin with alcohol.
With skill you can find these volcano centres under the skin before they are really noticeable. I suggest doing a pimple patrol on Wednesdays so you are cool for the weekend.
A good psych is to say “Good riddance Freeloader” on each success.
One of the latest treatments is laser for severe types of acne and operates by destroying the bacteria that cause acne. Lasers used in mild acne treatments like simple blackheads and whiteheads work on the serum producing glands to open up the follicle to release the serum trapped inside by heating the upper layer and reducing the size of the oil gland.

Baking soda acne treatment?
I was looking through the internet about acne treatments and i kept coming across a treatment that claims to work in just a week.It was mixing baking soda with water and stiring it into a paste then applying it to the affected area of the face.does anyone know if this really works? if you do can you tell me how long i should leave the solution on my face before rinsing it off? and how thick the paste should be when mixiging baking soda and water? all help is appreciated, thank you.Baking soda acne treatment?
No it dosn't work at all. Ive tried it. But there is an equally stupid idea and it hurts that ive done and had resualts.
Put toothpaste, a small bit ( a small dap on a Q-tip ) and apply it over night. It will burn a bit but it will get rid of complicated acne fast, and normal stuff too. It burns through the skin a small bit, so be sure to wash it out every morning and put mositureizer on it after the acne is gone. It has a RISK OF LEAVING SCARS. Do not use toothpaste unless you are willing to take the risk if not, just use soap i nteh sower o nyou're face. Work like a charm.Baking soda acne treatment?
I would consult with a doctor first. A lot of people claim things work and they don't in the end and the person is disappointed.
i tried it for maybe a month and didnt do nothing for me. i also tried the pepto bismol theory and asprin mask theory and the green tea and the apply cider vinegar ... theres so much crap out there i couldn't even tell you but i've tried it all and the only thing that worked for me is Antibiotics. I use Doxycycline which are very strong. it clears your skin right up buddy. so see a doctor and dont let him give you any other crap other than pills. my first doc didnt. he was an arss. gave me some topical treatments that dont work and wasted another month with more breakouts. then i went online and ordered he antibiotics. it costs me 80 bucks but its the best 80 i ever spent. if you see a doc and get a prescription it will be way less with insurance. but i dont which is why i bought it online.
I've heard of this, too but I've never tried it.
STOP eating and drinking foods with refined or artificial sugars, like high fructose corn syrup, crystalline fructose or aspartame/phenylalanine. Get a little sun everyday, no more than 10 minutes if you have a light complexion. Drink more water. Try using witchazel as a toner during the day, and unfiltered apple cider vinegar at night.
A raw potato is cheap and brilliant acne natural cure, especially for whiteheads. The vitamin C makes your skin glow, and alkaline in the potato kills the bacteria on your face. The potato also has an exfoliating effect helping you to get rid of dead skin cells. Papaya fruit produces similar effect; you should also use it raw. (Make sure the potato isn't genetically modified!)

My sister and cousin who both have major acne have tried the product and they both give it thumbs up. I have also heard many great feedbacks about this cream.
I don't have a problem with acne, but it seems to have great results on my sister who has moderate to severe acne. Her acne swelling went away overnight.

Favorite/ best acne treatment (homemade or over-the-counter)?
My favorite acne cure is this:
http://tiny.cc/acnesolution489
Take a look. I heard it really does work, unlike some temporary patches.Favorite/ best acne treatment (homemade or over-the-counter)?
this is def my favorite and is very effective.
It's Tea Tree Oild. I had mild acne for a while and even tho I washed my face every night I still had acne. So I used tea tree oil and within a week my acne was pretty much gone except for a few spots here and there, which will fade soon too.
Tea tree oil can be used for any skin type even if you have very sensitive skin. And in that case I would dilute the oil with either water or aloe vera gel, which you can get at any drug store.
There are only two downsides to tea tree oil and that is that the smell is pretty strong, and it can dry out your face a little, which can be taken care of by using a moisturizer.
The oil can be found in any drugstore/grocery store/health store in the same isle as the finger nail polish remover for about $6. There are many different kinds but you can get whatever brand as long as it says 100% tea tree oil.
I would recommend putting it on at night before you go to sleep.
If you have any more questions there are many websites about this product, or feel free to ask me.

Stop using all makeup, lotions, and face washes on your face. Only use eye makeup and lip glosses, no foundation at all. No moisturizers.
Twice a day, rinse your face with warm water and pat dry with a soft washcloth.
Don't use any lotion on your face. Your skin is broken, the lotion will get into your bloodstream, and that's just nasty.
Stop using Acne-Free (obviously).
Drink lots of water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This may sound obvious, but it's very important.
Keep your hands away from your face, they carry a lot of bacteria and germs.
Three times a week, leave a mixture of tumeric (a kitchen seasoning) and water on your entire face overnight. This will really help. You will see rapid results in as little as two applications.
See your dermatologist as soon as possible.
Don't use any more acne treatments. Especially not Proactive.
Don't wear foundation for the next month.
ooh that sucks! well, try nivea cream, u can get a tub of it at any store, r try a moisturizer. And stop using the product for a while, and don't put anything on ur face, nothing. u may look bad, but i guarantee that in a week, ur face will be back to normal.
Ease up on using the product, and exclamation points.
Let your skin heal for at least a week, before using the stuff again.
As for a fast remedy, I doubt there is one. Just let your face heal, and consider this a lesson.
Also, don't put more chemicals on your face, like foundation, blush, or anything else.
This may harm your skin and hinder the healing process.
hey,
you should try to use nivea moisturiser. it comes in a small blue jar, plus its under $6. it really helps with dry and flaky skin. =] good luck!

Mix lemon juice, rose water and glycerin in equal quantities. Apply daily before retiring to bed. Eat a lot of green vegetables like spinach, cabbage, beans, peas, lettuce, etc. A salad and fruit should be taken daily. Check out http://useinfo-acne.blogspot.com/ for more useful info.

The best acne treatment?
i dont really have acne but my friend does and she keeps pestering me to tell her how i have such clear skin (i get it form my mom) i dont do anything but wash my face with normal soap, it works for me, but i really want to tell her something useful because she has it really bad, help me out! what is the best acne treatment? The best acne treatment?
the clean and clear kit 3 step system works really well. i just use one of the products for spot treatment but its awesome. The best acne treatment?
Proactiv without a doubt. All of these commericals like ';Truthaboutacne.com'; and those who use topical acne treatements are mainly people who have extreme an beyond natural acne. If your friend has normal acne though, proaciv is the solution (ironic to the title haha). I have near perfect skin because i use it everyday, usually twice a day, its not that expensive, and it will keep your skin looking great, glowing, and clear of acne. It not only treats your current acne, but it helps prevent breakouts using a 3-step system. It has built an empire in the past 15-20 years, and tons of celebrities like Jessica Simpson use it.
Tell your friend to try it out, i promise she won't regret it.
P.S. Treatments that peal the skin usually harm the skin in some way if used too oftenly, and can create big problems besides acne, medical problems.
this is important...this cream was prescribed to my brother ADAFERIN ...its pure Adapalene....the cream maked my brothers skin peel off and build new layers of skin...
It did not just got rid of acne but of acne holes and scarfs any tipe of skin mark
It's a miracle...but I am not sure if you can get this without prescription...maybe in a trip to mexico...but you should go to a dermatologist and suggest to prescribe you what I say...
It works wonderful...all new skin just imagine that...
here are some surefire tips: topical applications are not enough. go to a dermtalogists for some anti-biotics. if those dont work the doc might give u accutane or contracptive pills.
this works for me- every night i wash my face and liberally dust a prickly heat powder on my face. it kills bacteria and absorbs excess oil.
u could be milk intolerant. try avoiding it and c. sugar is another culprit.
also never allow yourself to constipate. take castor oil if you cant go. because even one day of not 'going ' causes eruptions.
but do go to a dermatologists. newer and better medicatons keep coming into the market that work on the most persistant acne!
Some said that proactive is the best for cure acne. But before anyone going further, is the best to understand what kind of our skin is.

there are two lines that i think work great. in clinique (a cosmetic line) there is a three step acne solutions that you use twice daily. you se the difference after 2 days. the second on is proacttive..its the same way.. but i believe clinique is alot better....but then again....everyone skin is different. doesn't hurt to try.

What are the best acne treatments out there?
Does anyone know an acne treatment that works well and makes your skin almost clear? What are the best acne treatments out there?
proactive. The package comes with a complete solution. Washing when taking a shower, cleaning before going to bed, and applying lotion right before bed.. it's a 3 step process. It's a bit expensive, but it worksWhat are the best acne treatments out there?
See: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/鈥?/a>
Eat better and drink more water, stay away from polluted areas; this will work more than any treatment.
proactive
well i just use neutrogina oil free acne wash...cream cleanser...and i wash my face in the morning and before bed...and my face is pretty clear! so it works for me!
Proactiv works AWESOME! It will clear up your current acne and fade teh acne scarring as well.
Try the Clear Skin Regimen by Acne.org, I set a goal of three months for myself last April and stuck with it, after a month my skin was completely clear, and since I set a goal farther away it was easier to achieve, as I didn't have my hopes up for a quick fix
yes, try proactiv. if you cannot afford that. i swear by loreal, pure zone treatment. it is inexpensive and works as well as proactiv. good luck sweetie.
I can tell you without hesitation that the best acne treatment is an antibiotc cream that you can get from the dermatologist.
NOTHING over the counter really works!
Go to the doctor and request an antibiotic cream and you will be very happy.
We have been fooled, tricked, deceived, and just plain lied to. It's time that someone put a stop to it, and everyone learn the truth!
Those of us who suffer from acne has usually been given 2 choices and neither of them work:
1. Over the counter remedies such as cleansers, creams, ointments, etc. These things have been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.
2. Go see a doctor and or dermatologist. They will generally prescribe prescription drugs which include topicals and or antibiotics. This, too, has been proven over and over again not to work. Why? It does not address the root cause of the problem.
I found a step-by-step program that cured my acne and it has never come back. It is amazing and doesn鈥檛 use any drugs. The truth is that acne can be cured鈥f we know the secret the doctors and drug companies don鈥檛 want us to know.
There is a great website: http://cure-my-acne.info/3daycure that has all the details. I really suggest you check it out and see if it works as well for you as it did for me.tarte

If you wont to get guaranteed results and your a female birth control is the answer.

Angelina O, has found that applying ACV topically to her face several times a day (4 or more times) has cured her of a ';very bad complexion';. She reports that she applies it straight and that while it burns her skin a bit, it still works like a miracle!
Cheryl writes, ';My daughter developed a case of moderate acne, and after trying a number of different things for over a year which helped very little or not at all, she started drinking 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar three times a day and applying it topically once at night. She has been acne free for two months. It took about three weeks to clear up.';

you can get the vinegar at the health food store, or in some super markets.
There are many products sold for the treatment of acne, many of them without any scientifically-proven effects. However, a combination of treatments can greatly reduce the amount and severity of acne in many cases. Those treatments that are most effective tend to have greater potential for side effects and need a greater degree of monitoring, so a step-wise approach is often taken. It is highly advisable to ask your doctor about the tradeoffs between these treatments for any individual case, especially when considering using any of them in combination. There are a number of treatments that have been proven effective:
Cotton pads soaked in salicylic acid solution can be used to exfoliate the skin[edit]
Exfoliating the skin
This can be done either mechanically, using an abrasive cloth or a liquid scrub, or chemically. Common chemical exfoliating agents include salicylic acid and glycolic acid, which encourage the peeling of the top layer of skin to prevent a build-up of dead skin cells which combine with skin oil to block pores. It also helps to unblock already clogged pores. Note that the word ';peeling'; is not meant in the visible sense of shedding, but rather as the destruction of the top layer of skin cells at the microscopic level. Depending on the type of exfoliation used, some visible flaking is possible. Moisturizers and anti-acne topicals containing chemical exfoliating agents are commonly available over-the-counter.
Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.

What is a good acne treatment?
i tried so many and nothing is working for me...What is a good acne treatment?
I enjoy the benefits of proactive in combination with a glycerin based face wash.
Make sure you're not overmedicating. Washing your face too often and using acne medication too often will dry out your skin and give you a rash that will encourage breakouts.
-Wash no more than 2 times a day.
-Try to use and acne medication with Glycerin in it.
- Know what foods to eat and which ones NOT to eat. Acne is causes by the fluxuation of hormones in the body. This in turn is controlled by what foods you eat.
- Learn the natural ways to control acne so you don't become dependent on medication to clear your skin.
The source link below has strategies to help you accomplish this goal. Best of Luck! What is a good acne treatment?
Get Cetaphil face wash. Wash your face twice a day- once when you get up, once before bed. Before bed, smear your entire face with Gold Bond Baby Powder- dont be a wimp about it either- I'm talking layer it on until you look like Phantom of the Opera. In the morning, apply Cetaphil face cream. The face wash cleanses your pores really well and softens your skin, while the baby powder (I'm NOT crazy) eliminates all of the oil on your face. The lotion softens your skin, and seeing as you can hardly go around all day with baby powder all over your face, it's alright. This works amazingly for me- but then again, my skin is quite oily.
If your skin isn't that oily, try Kiehl's face wash.
oxy or neutrogena. their strong and work really well. You don't need the expensive acne treatments like pro-activ, because you can get the same thing for much cheaper in drug stores, as long as it contains salysilic acid or benzol peroxide, that's all you need.
You may want to try colloidal silver. Rub it on the affected area a few times a day. It should help to control the toxins purged from the skin. I use a beck protocol device to make my own colloidal silver... It's easy and cheap. It also help to cleanse the blood. With cleaner blood i see no reason you would get any form of acne.
most of these responses are really very good but i have found that natural sea salts work wonders on your skin and reduces the blemish almost immediately. you can purchase some really good sea salts at almost any mall...but they can be expensive. i spent $50.00 on a jar but it lasted almost 6 months and my skin has never looked or felt better...it really works!!! and it's fast!!! try it!!! you'll be glad you did...
Well I used proactiv for a while and it dries your skin out at first but it works really well, now I dont know know if your female or not but if you are then all I can say is BIRTH CONTROL, it is the best for clearing up acne,Good Luck
you have to drink a lot of water. and lay off the junk food, things like chocolate and soda. i use proactive and i find it to work really well.
i use nutregena oil free acne wash and scrub it in with an exfoliation cloth. i do it every day and have not have a zit for about 4 months. good luck. ;)
Accutane but your skin has to be pretty bad and you have to go to the doctor to get the medication.
Clearasil! It works the best.
dude proactive suks trust me....used it gave me a bad rash...id u wanna get rid of acne fast use nuetregina acne wash and neutregina on the spot treatmenttt it wworksss
Proactive or if that doesn't work for you go see your dermatologist they can recommend something else for you.
using proactive, oxy or acne free! All of them work amazingly!
*** on the face is a great moisturizer.. and it leaves the skin feeling silky smooth.

My daughter had eczema and as an acupuncturist I too wanted to avoid harsher meds if possible. I learned a lot about self care tips and ended up collecting them into a website. It is a free informational site and not selling anything. I am just trying to share info that helped us.
There are pages there about washing, diet, allergies, products and more. I am sure you can find some useful info to help your son. The website is:
www.myskinbetter.com
The first piece of advice is to wash less frequently and with a very gentle natural soap. Use only warm water, not hot as that strips more natural oils. After washing, while still damp apply a very simple, natural moisturizer. This should get things started.
Often skincare products can contain unnecessary ingredients such as colors or fragrance.
But also look out for harsh preservatives, like parabens, which can trigger an eczema flare-up.
I found a really useful site that lets you compare the ingredients of several leading brands, its from a company called exederm
Exederm make ultra hypoallergenic skin care products for adults and kids with eczema or dermatitis

I have really bad excema and i got fed up with it. I'd tried everything, id read the reviews on this and thought id give it a go. It works for a LOT of people.
I've been taking them for 3 weeks now and my excema is clearing up! it should take a few months to go completely.
Do this plus moisturise, drink lots of water :)
try and work out what triggers it, like makes it get worse. For me, its heat and allergies.
This is a really hard question to answer,
Someone had send me this website and you'll come to a site that has all the info you need .
Hope this helps out some way :)

Acne help?? What is good acne treatment kit?
Have you tried Benzaclin? It has worked really well for me. It is a prescription, but doesn't dry out your face and I see overnight results.
Also, check out Clean and Clear Ance Advantage Control kit if you need something OTC. I'll include links to both the websites where you can get some coupons.
Good Luck!Acne help?? What is good acne treatment kit?
Proactive really does work. I never used it but my brother did. Give it a few weeks and it will clear your skin up for the most part.Acne help?? What is good acne treatment kit?
ok as a student farmacist (4 exams left) i recomend u to go to dermatologist coz i cant tell u (even if i was one ) what to use coz i dont know how ur acne is at what stage is and if it is acne or cloracne but if u want some information about acne
that i can tell u . So the pores of the skin contain sebum and sebaceum glands and in the acne situation we have the blocking of the follicle opening that leads to acumulation of sebum that is very good for cultivating bacteria , with result of the coltivation of bacteria and the formation of the acne.
So to use against the acne are cremes containing antibiotics or antibiotics for oral use, the cremes used often contain erythromycin or for oral use tetraciclines.
But my ansewr is that u have to go to dermatologist to show him ur acne and he will give the best advice
i hope iam a bit of help
i've found pro-active to work pretty well. i also use a prescription that i got from a dermatologist. it is a topical antibiotic.
different things work better for different people, so it may take some time before you find what works best for you.
be sure that anything you try, you do it regularly and follow the directions. this will help you know if something is really working or not.
Face pack for acne prone skin would be of honey (1 tsp) with 1/2 (tsp) of cinnamon powder. Apply for 15 minutes. Due to the antiseptic properties, bacterial infections in the skin are treated. More home remedies available at http://www.wellnesstalk.org/acne.html

Acne Treatment and skin oil?
The best methods to absorb/reduce skin oils?Acne Treatment and skin oil?
don't scrub or wash too much! it will aggravate skin and make it produce more oil. wash once in the morning with a gentle scrubbing cleanser to clear pores. during the day if you get oily try oil absorbing sheets or blotting wipes. wash at night with a gentle foaming cleanser (not a scrubbing cleanser), tone, and use an oil-free moisturizer. if you have acne, look for cleansers designed specifically for that. if this doesnt help, seek out a dermatologist and possibly get some prescription treatments. good luck!Acne Treatment and skin oil?
i find sandal wood paste to b very effective.
But its better to get the sandal wood peice and rub it on a stone with water, instead of buying the sandalwood powder.
use alcohaul it absorbs oil
Neutrogena Rapid Clear Treatment Pads, 8 Hours Maximum Strength you will see a diffrence in 8 hours.
do an organic cleanser and then use a almond ';desert essence'; scrub... make sure you are gentle, otherwise the oil might dry out too much, and then your body will produce more and more oil to offset the balance. only try proactive if your skin is majorly ance prone. if not- stay away from it.. it can do a lot of damage, and dry out your skin tooooo much!
Baking Soda Works Wonders instantly..
Trying Baking Soda with a couple drops (2) of Honey (for added moisture) This is the new thing and very cheap too.
Mixed with water, you want it to become almost like pancake batter and then you will need to rub on your face in circular motions.

Acne treatment? Does this one work?
My mom saw on T.V that if you mix bananas and milk together that would get rid of acne.
I just wanna know if it really does work and how long it takes.Acne treatment? Does this one work?
I know this really isn't an answer to you're question, but you should try Neutrogena pink grapefruit scrub. It is the only think that will clear my acne and it only costs about $6. You should definately try it.Acne treatment? Does this one work?
Bananas as a mask are good for getting rid of wrinkles, not acne.
A wash of milk with lime is a great treatment for blackheads. First bring a glass of milk to a gentle boil, and then add juice from half a lime. When the milk cools down it makes a great face wash. You can store it in the fridge for a couple days. (Make sure the milk doesn't come from cattle that have been treated with rBGH)
STOP eating and drinking foods with refined or artificial sugars, like high fructose corn syrup, crystalline fructose or aspartame/phenylalanine. Up your vitamin C, K %26amp; A. Do some exercise like dancing or yoga. Get a little sun everyday, no more than 10 minutes if you have a light complexion. Drink more water. Try using witchazel as a toner during the day, and unfiltered apple cider vinegar at night.
Clear Skin Remedy
Ingredients:
Besan which is also known as (Gram Flour)
Fresh lemon juice
Yogurt
Turmeric powder (optional)
Method:
Add 1-2 table spoons of gram flour in a small bowl or plate, then add 1-2 teaspoons of dairy yogurt, give it a mix until it creates a good thick paste, when paste is made add 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice, also add just a pinch of turmeric powder mix all together and apply on whole face. Leave to work and dry for 15-20 minutes, after then wash of smoothly by tapping some water on face and rubbing in a circular motion from there completely wash the face. Once washed tap dry with towel.
Hope this helps!! Good Luck!!!!
Well good luck and best wishes.tarte

Does ULTRA VANISHING ACNE TREATMENT CREAM really work?
does it really work? the one that proclaims ';see results in 3 days'; guaranteed? does it work?????????Does ULTRA VANISHING ACNE TREATMENT CREAM really work?
Well the cream vanishes into your skin.. the acne, well not so much. I only got real results when I went to see a dermatologist.Does ULTRA VANISHING ACNE TREATMENT CREAM really work?
Yes, but it has benzoyl peroxide that will seriously fry out and irritate your skin. It will work well enough for mild acne. If you have acne regularly, see a dermatologist. There are really great medicines out there for acne now. in the meantime, start using a 2% salycylic acid facial wash (Phisoderm's is very good). Make sure, however, to use a little water to wet it and then leave it on for roughly 2 minutes. That will give it time to penetrate and remove the oil/dirt deeper down. If that helps, but not entirely, you may want to add a glycolic acid face wash (available from dermatologists) right after the phisoderm, leaving it on for 2 min as well.

Advice/help about Acne treatment and products?
Ok i have really bad Acne i used almost every acne product.
i
have not used proactive but a lot of people say it works. A lot of people say it does not work great.
i was thinking of buying
1# Skin ID neutrogena
2# proactive
3# clean and clear acne kit.
witch one helps work the best? Have you used any of these??Advice/help about Acne treatment and products?
if your acne is bad and has not responded to other acne products, I suggest going to the dermatologist
I had bad acne too, which did not respond to sooooo many different kits (including proactiv) so after a rather tramatic facial I went to the dermatologist
If you go see a doc they can really analyze what is casuing your acne and prescribe medicine to help treat it...
good luck!

Is $1,200 for laser acne treatments just one procedure or thats the total for every thing ?
I wanted to get a laser treatment for my acne but i want to know is $1,200 for one treatment or is that the total to get everything done ? Please can someone help me because if its just for one treatment then I'm not getting it. But if its the total after all treatments are done then i might consider to go in and get it done. Thanks ! ! !Is $1,200 for laser acne treatments just one procedure or thats the total for every thing ?
Depends on where you live, what place you go to, and what part of the body you want it done.
Cheeks = $275 - $1200
Chin = $200 - $800
Forehead = $250 - $1100
Lower Face = $300 - $1500
Full Face = $350 - $1800
Neck = $300 - $1500
Upper Back = $450 - $2300
3 鈥?4 treatments are recommended to get maximum results you want. These are usually performed every 3 or 4 weeks. You should notice a gradual reduction in the number and severity of acne within or over 3 weeks. Also, improvement will last between 6 months - 1 year.

Hi there,
2 OTC products that I personally recommended is Clean %26amp; Clear and Oxy. It easy to use and effective. But you may need more than just acne treatment products; you may need to control your skin hygiene, your dieting, stress....
I found a great site that offer a free eBook to download. you can learn more about acne there.
Good Luck :)

I have tried Proactive. It worked but is a life long commitment, or so it seems. I use Pro active and have VERY sensitive skin. It has worked wonders on my skin, so I'd give it a 10. It is the only thing that works on my skin. Neutrogena made my skin break out really bad, become EXTREMLY red and blotchy, so I'd give it a 0. Clearasil was okay, but tended to try out my face so I'd give it a 3.
I went to a dermatologist and thats how I ended up with the Proactive. What works for me, may not work for everyone. I really recommend going to a dermatologist and they will help out.
Proactiv sucks - it got rid of a few zits but made my face break out even more. It excessively dried my skin up, which made me flake and peel.
Clearasil - it didn't get rid of my acne but it helped prevent new ones from forming. Plus it made my skin feel really dry.
Neutrogena - I'd probably recommend this one the most out of the three. I've just started using the wave but I've already noticed a few bumps gone and leaves my skin feeling soft.
ProActive is said to be a miracle worker to some, but it only works on a specific skintype, some are left with dry skin that feels SO cakey. I didn't buy the full set, it was really expensive so I just got the face mask that was $15 for a small tube! I was appauled that my pimple grew tinier the next day, but only took two days to vanish but it left me skin feeling smooth. ProActive- 7 Neutrogena- 6 Clearasil- 6 GOOOD LUCK!
neutrogena, clearasil, clean and clear.. its all the same. they all work fine and they all have the same concentration of acne medication.
and i TOTALLY agree about proactive. if you ever go off proactive, you will break out 3x as bad as you used to. it took 1/2 a year for my skin to become clear after going off proactive. PROACTIVE YOU DEVIL!
proactive- doesn't fit my face, it dried it out %26amp; irritated it so I stopped using it.
Clearasil- pretty good
Neutrogena- my favorite! I'm using it right now %26amp; it usually fits all skin types. I have the oil-free acne wash %26amp; it has little scrubbing beads, i love it
I used Proactiv for a while, but it didn't seem to do much of anything for me. Now I'm using Clean %26amp; Clear, and it's working great! I don't know much about Clearasil or Neutrogena's products though, sorry.
Good luck!
i used clearisils %26amp; it worked wonders for me. %26amp; i mean my acne was terrible. proactive is ok but yeah if you miss like 1 day you might ended up wearing a mountain of foundation the next
I tried proactiv and it didn't work for me at all! Try Neutrogena. Or try Clinique. Or make an appointment with a dermatologist.
I would give Clearasil a 0 because it made my face look worse. Neutragena works pretty good i'd give it a 7 and Proactiv does work extremely well so i'd give it a 9 or 10! Hope I helped (:
i use clearasil ultra, and i give a 10+, worked very nice, my acne was gone with in 2 days.
i like the clinique 3 step system, myself
ive tried proavtive and it made my acne WAYYYYYYYY worse. but im gona have to go with neutrogena
i love clearasil!!! it works so fast my face was clearer in like 2 days!!!
i want to know also----------i'l be checking back here later!!
On a five star scale
Proactiv- 3 stars
Neutrogena- 4 stars
Clearasil- 2 stars

Which acne treatment is better?
clear.now, it's what's worked for me.
http://aorihuela.qbeautyzone.com/Which acne treatment is better?
Personally I am completely against proactiv. It is a carcinogen and only temporarily resolves the problem, and even after it gets rid of your acne you have to continue using it. It's extremely harsh on the skin and can dehydrate your skin and make it flaky.
I would suggest visiting your local salon or spa and going for a series of Acne facials. They will permanently solve the problem, rather than just temporarily relieve it.Which acne treatment is better?
who do these people keep answering something thats already been answered! hahaha
dont over wash your face or you're face will produce oil to over componsate and you'll end up with more problems
i use proactiv 2 though =(
haha.
This depends on how your skin reacts to the different medicans. Pro active works pretty well.
proactive because it gets into your skin better than others.
By far, Proactiv. I've seen the results on my teen's face. Big difference. And, she feels great about herself now.

I have severe acne(there is too much), and i cannot find the right treatment for it. What should I do?
First, I started using proactiv(twice),then i used clearisil but that didn't work(it was worse than before). So now I went back to proactiv but it seems like its not working anymore.I have severe acne(there is too much), and i cannot find the right treatment for it. What should I do?
DUDE I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, i went to my dermatoligist and she perscribed Accutane for 4x less then proactive costed me. 3 months later my acne is gone and still has not(and will not) returnI have severe acne(there is too much), and i cannot find the right treatment for it. What should I do?
I don't think it's a good idea to see a dermatologist, that's only trying to get rid of your symptoms, and basically they are there to sell drugs.
The best bet is to check your diet, sleep, water intake, and avoid Coke and other fizzy drinks, and fast food (junk food) as it is loaded with fat which translates into acne.
Wash your face with clean water, with a little added salt, get some sunshine, eat your veggies, drink only clean water and green tea, exercise to perspire, get eight hours sleep a night , and you will be fine.
All the best with that, Nvrgvup.
go to a dermatologist and ask for...
accutane works the best, its a really strong pill that dries you out but its usually 100% effective but it takes about 2 months to see results
also they can inject your pimples right there on the spot and they will shrink within the next day!
k i had ance when i was a younger teen im now 18. I tryed everything. go to the skin doc. and ask about Accutane. its a pill kinda like an overdose of vitimin A. It drys your skin out a bit depends. but its a cure sent from heaven.
here.

if your a girl you have to be on birth control and have blood tested every month. cuz it will casue birth defects. but other wise it will clear it right up in a couple months.
I've had some problems too. I've seen a doctor and he gave me some medicine for infection and some gels for outside. Ask a doctor about Doxycycline Hyclate 100 mg and Duac Gel or Finacea and Retinoic Acid. You need a prescription from a doctor for these. I suggest you go ahead and see one asap. They do work.
Usually Proactive will work. Try washing your face three times a days and see if that works. I have a friend who has bad acne and she went and saw a doctor and they gave her special cream medicine that helped her. So maybe you should see a doctor? Good luck!
See a dermatologist.
they will most probably prescribe you roaacutane (google it for info and side effects) which is a very effective drug -- i went on this and it cured my acne in less than 2 months.
pro active SUCKS!!! i went to the doctor and he gave me this stuff called duac and it works GREAT!!! clean and clear also helps but pro active is theee worst, stop using it, it will make you break out more
proactiv is making it much worse! stop using it! u cud try neutrogena or clean and clear, that what i use, and my skin is not 2 bad.
Go to a dermatologist! They will either give you a topical creme or some pills to help.
It's definetly worth making an appointment.
Girls can go on a low dose birth control pill, but you may need Accutane or something else prescribed by a dermatologist.
See a dermatologist. They can give you certain antibiotics to clear the acne if store bought medication isnt working.
try la roche posay effaclar acne treatment, derma recommended, check amazon, they have the best prices.
Shoot yourself in the face.......
hahah just messin with you man dude every one has a problem with that sooner or later screw it just wash you face if it dont go away wait till your balls drop further
hey im sorry hun all you can do is give it time good luck
Go see a dermatologist, they can give you better medications.
I use clean and clear and it doesnt totally stop it, but it prevents like extreme mountain ranges on your face
Go to the doctor, Get medication
You need to give proactiv time. Use it for another 3-6 months and you'll probably see results. Have patience!
see a dermatologist for your acne or use clean and clear everyday i had bad acne n acne scars n now they r going away
I finally went to our family DR and he gave me shots and meds. I am clear today.
Go to a dermatologist:D
He can even prescribe you meds for your acne:D
Go to a skiin and cancer doctor
go and look up a dermatologist instead of wasting your money on all of that
Dump your ugly face in the mud

What acne treatment do you use?
where do i get it and how much is it???What acne treatment do you use?
What acne treatment do you use?
Well, these are the remedies that work gentle on your skin while getting rid of acne.Hope this helps and great skin wishes
Try using a treatment with Salicylic acid as the active ingredient. It is used for acne and really works and you can get it for 10 bucks or less.

Exposed Acne Treatment?
Does anyone have experience with the Exposed acne treatment? The gaurantee they offer makes me want to try it. Has anyone had any luck with it?Exposed Acne Treatment?
I am sorry. I have never heard of it. The products you are using, are they Salsylic Acid or Benzoyl peroxide? BP can be VERY drying. I personally like SA better. Salsylic acid it really good. It is in almost all acne washes. Benzoyl Peroxide is too drying for me! Try finding a face lotion with SA in it. Clean and Clear has a good moisturizer with SA and it helps keep pimples at bay. It is only about $5 a bottle and lasts about 2 months and you can get it at your local store. I have used this in the past and it works well. Personally, I use Biore products (which you get over the counter. Their products range from $5-$10). They are harsh on pimples, but not on your face.
Personally, Proactive didn't work for me. I have been using Biore products for over a year and I hardly ever break out! Occasionally I will get one or two, but nothing bad. I use Biore Ice Cleanser for acne and Biore warming facial scrub every morning for blackheads (This stuff works. I notcied a DRASTIC diffrence in my blackeads being GONE within 2 weeks) . And then 3-4 day s a week I use Biore purging pore cream scrub. For body acne I use Neutrogena acne body wash I never break out on my body. It gets 110 in summer so sweat in inevitably, yet I never break out. Give it a try. All of it is cheap too. About $5-10 depending on what you buy! Salsylic acid it really good. It is in almost all acne washes. Benzoyl Peroxide is too drying for me! I think you will just need to experiment with products until you find what works for you. Remember, it can take 1 month for products to fully begin working! Good Luck!Exposed Acne Treatment?
Nobody really answered this question. Amazing. Kinda makes this useless if you answer a question by saying, ';I've never heard of it'; and yet it gets best answer. lol Would have liked to heard real answer to could decide if I would try it as well. Oh well, so much for yahoo answers. Report Abuse
Basic Acne Treatments Product Ingredients
Salicylic Acid:
* There is ample evidence that salicylic acid is your best attack on acne
* Salicylic acid reduces the number of primary lesions and therefore the number and severity of all lesions associated with acne.
* Salicylic acid is safe even on darker skin
* As the first step in treating acne 鈥?salicylic acid is proven to be safe and effective.
Glycolic Acid:
* Glycolic acid is one of the most widely used of the broadly popular alpha hydroxyl acids, as an efficacious chemical peel.
* Even in strong concentrations, it has few negative side effects.
* Long-term daily use of low-strength glycolic acid products may also have some useful effects on scars
* Glycolic also makes the skin more resistant to attack from ultraviolet light (thus reducing the impact of photo-aging), improves its moisture retention, and, perhaps for the same reasons, improves its general condition.
* Glycolic acid, used alone, is fairly effective against acne, and (even at much higher concentrations than recommended) is safe, however, by itself, it is not a complete solution and does work best as part of a skin care regime.
Benzoyl Peroxide (BP):
* Benzoyl peroxide has been known as a effect treatment' for acne. In the 1930's it was a leading treatment for skin care, but since then science and the understanding of skin care has come a long way to create better treatments.
* Benzoyl peroxide has been classified by the FDA as 'safety unknown' due to scientific studies, click here to learn more.
* You can find several celebrity endorsed products and web sites devoted to the benefits of acne products containing Benzoyl Peroxide
* Beside its antibacterial activity, BP also seems to have an anti-oxidant impact.
* Some users of Benzoyl peroxide experience side effects of dry or irritated skin

so am i.. i have the small little red ones.. you feel like scratching them but dont.. because you can get scarring on that.. so yea.. well dont use proactiv because it works.. but then after you have the perfect skin and you stop using it.. it comes back so much worse.. soo i recomend using panoxyl or differin... but if you dont want to see you dermatologist.. then try using clean %26amp; clear or nuetrogena.. those workWhat acne treatment do you reccomend
I did a whole bunch of stuff -- benzamycin, clindamycin, strydex, retin-A...
I'd say
a) don't take acutane. That stuff is BAD and has long-term consequences.
b) try strydex in a store, or get a prescription for clindets (or some other clindamycin pads). Those worked the best for me.
c) Drink plenty of water, that's a major help for acne.
d) if you live by the ocean, swim in that salt water! It's great for your skin.
e) try to eat as healthy as possible. Junk food high in fats will make acne worse.
Good luck!
I use something called called clear now and it works real well... I have heard and well seen that proactive makes your face look awful for the first week... I'm not all about that I am trying to make it look better not worse. But you can check it out on this site. http://www.tergle.qbeautyzone.com
check it out if you want any more information just send me an e-mail at mtergle@yahoo.com
Calamine lotion has the same drying effect like toothpaste so you can apply it overnight and wash the next day. More such solutions at http://solutionsforpimples.blogspot.com/
drink lots of water, eat less salty and oily foods. buy neutragena acne-free solution (the one in orange) or clear and clean acne-free solution (the one in purple or blue bottle).
i ask myself that every day.
proactive

Though everyone's skin is different, I love using the Cetaphil face-wash to keep my face from breaking out. I also like how it is in a really big bottle so you don't have to go buy a new bottle every week lol. If you where to buy a facil cleanser, I reccomend Cetaphil!
However if you are choosing between Neutrogena, Clearisil, and Clean and Clear I think Neutrogena is the best. I know it worked pretty well on my skin when I was using it.
I am a Registered Nurse and I specialize in skin care and teen acne.
Your question is very broad and you need to get professional advice. I will explain why it's a broad question!
Your age plays a role! How old are you? Do you always have breakouts or just before your menstrual cycle?
If you are a teenager ( which I assume that you are) your hormones play a definite role in your breakouts.
If you have severe breakouts than you might need medication. There are many factors.
The most important thing is that you need products that are AGE APPROPRIATE! Every age group has different products appropriate for them. If you are young than you need milder products as to not dry out your beautiful young skin.
The problem with commercial skin products is that they are manufactured for MASSES OF PEOPLE and are not specifically made for different peoples' needs.
Your skin type is different than mine and your age differs from mine so how is it logical that we both use the same skin product for breakouts. We need different strengths of cleansers and toners. Do you kind of understand what I am getting at?
Here is my STRONG SUGGESTION for you. I refer all my students and patients to this website: www.aboutyourskincare.com
You need to consult with professionals and on this website YOU CAN ASK QUESTIONS FOR FREE AND A SKIN EXPERT/PHYSICIAN WILL ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS. It would be a shame if you dont take advantage of this free service.
Lastly, they have incredible products for breakouts and they make them specifically for every kind of skin type. That means that if your breakouts are more severe than mine, than while we both will buy the same product yours will have stronger ingredients than mine will.
They have a mild glycolic acid cleanser that's great for your type of skin and also a DRYING LOTION ( I have 3 bottles) that you put directly on your breakouts and the next day it's gone. It's truely magic in a bottle.
A basic guideline for properly taking care of your skin is this ( now if you're a young girl you will need fewer products than this):
Night time:
1. Exfoliate the skin
2. Mild Glycolic Acid Cleanser
3. Mild Glycolic Acid Toner ( cleans off the excess debris and balances the PH level of the skin).
4. Drying Lotion used only on breakouts
5. Moisturizer
Morning:
1. Mild Glycolic Acid Cleanser
2. Moisturizing cream
The above is a standard you may need to only use one or two products. Viisit the website I suggested and click on the ASK FOR FREE section send them an email and you will get free expert skin care advice.
Good Luck to you,
