Laser acne treatment?

I want to know other people who have been through it. Did it help? Or work at all?Laser acne treatment?
I tried laser treatments for adult acne.

The laser works by killing the most common bacterial cause of acne. It does this by producing free oxygen radicals that bind to this bacteria and kill it. Treatments are typically spaced 2 or 3 a week.

Because of the skin healing time, good clearance is only seen weeks after the final treatment. Combining the treatment with salicylic/glycolic peels is common to provide the maximum result.

Whether it works or not depends on the severity of acne. If you have any cystic acne (red swollen, pus filled zit volcanos) it can take 16 treatments to see any improvement. This can be very very expensive. Better results are seen with the laser and mild acne (black heads and some small white heads).

As well because acne is a chronic condition, you will need followup treatments. How often you will need them will depend on the severity of your acne.

On the positive side, it is a treatment with a much better safety profile than accutane and few side effects. On the negative side it can take many treatments, with long term followup treatments afterwards.

I had 8 treatments and had clearance for 5 months, but it came back and I just couldn't keep up with the cost. I now go for monthly salicylic/glycolic peels instead, and I'm pretty happy with the results.
