Dry ice for acne treatment?

Today at the dermatologist, she rubbed dry ice all over my face, and it's supposed to help with my acne. Has anyone else ever had this done? If so, did it help?Dry ice for acne treatment?
I've never heard of that before, but if the dermatologist did that there must be a reason for it and it must help. There is no quick fix for acne. Your doctor may recommend some prescription medication. Keep your face very clean. Drink plenty of water. Eat a nutritious diet and get enough sleep. Try to reduce the stress in your life. Probably the most useful and effective things you can do are to apply hot compresses to pustules and cysts and never to pick or squeeze pimples. Playing with or popping pimples, no matter how careful and clean you are, nearly always makes bumps stay redder and bumpier longer. Here are a few informative links with additional home treatment ideas.

Dry ice for acne treatment?
My husband had cystic acne as a teenager and received ';Dry Ice'; treatments for several weeks which eliminated the acne. It was a comon treatment back in the early 70s in Sothern California and very effective. We are looking for a dermatologist who does in the Chicago Area. Help! Report Abuse

What the skin needs is a product that clears pores and kills bacteria, thus preventing hair follicles from clogging and turning into acne. This is what you should be looking for if you want to get rid of those ugly acne.

Before trying any treatment, I suggest you read this informational source that listed the most effective acne treatments available:

Good luck :)
ice actually includes more dirt than just water. Ice has no help at all with acne because all it does is freeze the top of your pimple. This actually makes it harder to get rid of. what you want is to keep your pimples soft, and use something that is strong enough to get rid of most pimples soon. i recommend oxy. it really works. proactive is fake
This procedure will kill the bacteria that causes acne and will exfoliate old skin cells, resulting in newer, cleaner appearing skin.

Yes, it helps. The ';Dry Ice'; (not real ice cube ice) freezes the skin cells.
