if you have mild acne...what line of treatment have you found to work best? (i.e. proactiv, clean %26amp; clear, neutrogena, etc.)Best acne treatment for mild acne?
Everybody's skin is different, so if you find what works for you - use it.





Wash twice a day with Biore pore refining heating face wash. That's what works for my family. I've tried Neutrogena and Clean n Clear and they were too gentle. My dermatologist recommends Nuetrogena, though.

proactive is tottally sweet! it works sooo well. what they say is what you get. even for small cases it works well. and the chances that you will have more breakouts its very high so having it will really help. Good Luck! =D
You can use Benzoyl peroxide (Brevoxyl or Panoxyl) cream. Apply the cream ONLY on the pimples. But you must be careful not to apply it on broken skin. Mild irritaion %26amp; redness are the common side effects. I hope this helps. -dennisMD
i used proactiv for like 4 months %26amp; it didn't really do anything but break me out some more. st. ives apricot scrub %26amp; cocoa butter worked.

I am guessing that you dont want to know what KIND of moisterizer to use but what order to use it in. Correct?





It is always good to use moisterizer on your skin.





Use the acne treatment first after washing your face, if it is a gel let it dry and then apply your moisterizer.

Wipe your skin with rose and camphor water tonic. Follow it up by rubbing tomato halves on the affected areas. This will reduce the oiliness and help shrink open pores. Also apply a mask of sandalwood paste to which add a piece of camphor. Drink 10-12 glasses of water everyday.
I too use Cetaphil, at the suggestion of my dermatologist. You should apply it after the acne treatment. I don't usually wait and I haven't had any problems.
Lotion you mean moisturizer? If so, I suggest Cetaphil or any oil free moisturizer that won't irritate your skin.I would apply after a few minutes after the treatment.

Roaccutane pills worked for me, but you need to have good health though...believe me they麓re a miracle worker but you need to talk to a doctor in order to take them (not everybody is supposed to take them)

It really would be best to go see your doctor - don't waste time with over the counter stuff as getting something on prescription will be much more effective.





The doctor can offer a number of treatments.





Antibiotics or topical treatments like benzyl peroxide will kill the P.acnes bacteria on your skin.





Retinoids are available which affect cell turnover and will therefore help to stop pores getting blocked with dead skin cells. I use a topical Retin A gel (also called tretinoin or isotrex) which I'd definitely recommend.





It is possible to use more than one treatment at the same time, which may help to get a better result. Just remember that with anything you try you need to allow at least a month to see significant results.





The mini pill is also very effective for many girls too - it helped improve my skin a lot ( I was prescribed Dianette).





Don't overdo cleaning your face - using something that is mild and for sensitive skin is best - as drying out your skin by using harsh cleansers (or even by using very hot then very cold water) will only stimulate the oil glands to produce more oil/sebum - and its the oil and dead skin cells which block your pores (when P.acnes bacteria gets trapped in these blocked pores this is when redness and inflammation occurs)





Also - if you use makeup check that it is non comedogenic (won't block pores) as otherwise it will aggrevate the problem.





don't despair - there will be a treatment that will work for you - it just might take a little time - I hope you do find a solution soon - I know how upsetting it can be.

.....have not heard of acnezine before but have just had a look at the website. In my opinion you would be wasting your money purchasing this treatment - antioxidants do combat free radicals (as the site says) but by eating a healthy diet you can increase your intake of antioxidants.......... on the whole, research suggests that diet is not the cause of acne though

What's been your experience with a dermatologist prescribed medication for acne?





I have 10 weeks before my wedding...and I had a few blackheads, whiteheads and small pimples...but NOW after a week of being on the medication, my face is a complete WARZONE.

My experience has been the same as yours. I don't have an acne problem really. I have some light blackheads on my nose, really not hugely visable but they bother me. I have been trying all different face washes and it seems like once I start using them I break out with pimples that weren't there before. Drives me nuts. I think the ones that start coming up after you have been using something is really just a sign your face is being cleaned of the dirt and oils in your pores. I am not professional but this seems to be the experience I have had with this. I can't seem to stick with any facial wash though. They dry my face too bad and irritate it. IF I even put regular soap (which I use Dove) close to my face it turns bright red and it looks like I get something similar to hives! LOL. I have always just used a hot wet washcloth on my face with no soap. So if you find something that works well for you let me know! I want to get rid of my blackheads. Oh and I was told not to use those facial washes with the scrubbers in it. Like sand or microbeads. THey essentially damage the skin on your face.Does it get worse before it gets better?? Yes, in most acne medications wheather they are oral retinoids (accutane) or benzyl peroxide there will be initial flare. The flare is caused by the conversion of closed comedones (white heads) to open comedones (black heads) and lastly expelling the contents of the black comedones. It should clear up within the next week.





Keep following the treatment properly and your doctors orders and there will be light at the end of the tunnel.

i know the best thing you can use right now is marykay. I had such problems until I used their acne treatment products. At first I wasn't sure, but since using thier first product, I got addicted. Your pimples will be gone hopefully before your wedding.
Yes, it will start to bring the toxins out of your system. Just don't over wash your face. More washing and scrubbing can actually irritate and cause too much too soon.


It should get better.





**Watch the sun exposure! Not sure what you are on, but sun can be really bad on skin going through acne treatment!!

You should be fine in 10 weeks. There is plenty of evidence that says it gets worse before it gets better, mine did.
Yes. There is light at the end of the tunnel. In my experience, the creams prescribed to me transformed all my black heads into big red nightmares. It's a good thing because the big red ones will pop and go away. Blackheads can stay around forever. Explain to your dermatologist that you want to be crystal clear for your wedding and maybe he/she can speed up your treatment or give you a break from it until after the wedding.
Honestly, I don't know. I haven't had any luck really. I think I'm finally starting to get better. I've been using stuff for about 2 years now though. But it all probably depends on what you use.
I dont think it should get worse go to a doctor my bf has bad bad acne and uses creams but they get better always not worse then better hope this helps

I looked it up and the active ingredient in Acne Complex is salicylic acid. This is the same stuff that is in Stridex pads, Equate pads, Oxy pads, and many other acne treatments. I use Equate pads because they are the cheapest and they contain the same concentration as all the others. Benzoyl peroxide is the other chemical that is widely used in non-prescription acne treatments, and is in Clean %26amp; Clear, Clearasil, Proactiv and many others. Salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide are the only active ingredients I have seen in non-prescription acne treatments, and they have the same effectiveness. Don't waste your money spending more for the same stuff. Salicylic acid is salicylic acid whether it costs you $3 or $30. The only stuff you can get that is more effective is prescription medications.

When you apply Clindoxyl at night before you sleep, do you wash it off or do you sleep with it on and then wash it off the next morning





it doesent tell you to rinse it off on the back of the tube or on the box or in the booklet you get with itClindoxyl Acne treatment gel?
If it doesn't say to rinse it off, I'd assume you would wear it overnight, especially if it's in a cream or gel form.
